Sentinel doesn’t counter mutants

I know this topic has already been discussed but yeah I am one of the unlucky sods that got a 7* one from the only box they will open, every relevant mutant defender is either immune to or resistant to incineration and shock, and the simple solution is to give him plasma against mutants instead of incin on the sp2, but I have a feeling kabam won’t address this major flaw in the update…

    Do people here actually read comics lmao? Sentinels aren't some mutant hunting super weapon, their strength comes from their numbers not their individual ability to destroy every single mutant

    He is not really a bg attacker, He is great for tech questing paths with his spare bot ability. In bgs he excel in defense as he's immune to armor breaks and can counter a lot of traditional cosmics.

    This problem is also present in other technology champions. For example, guardian, prowler. One burns and the other shocks, but mutants are immune. Neuro flushing when Onslaguht's plasma is active is also weird.

    Not every character in the game is comic accurate though
    Of course not, but the people that talk about how he's supposed to be this perfect mutant killing machine use their understanding of comic accuracy as the justification for it.

    He shouldn't have any trouble dealing with Dust, Negasonic or Northstar, right? The only mutant from the past few years that I can't see him deal with at all in any meaningful way is Onslaught. He'd be pretty terrible against Bishop and Havok as well, but those are older champs with plenty of counters already so I don't need Sentinel to work against them. It's not like he'd fill some much needed role if he did.

    I won't go into a full-on defense of his new kit since I don't have him yet, but I will say that he looks cool and based on how annoying he is to fight after his buff, I reckon that there's at least some juice in him. Plus, even if he's not the mutant killing machine he is in the comics, he should still work against plenty of other champions too.

    Don't hit into block. Two-3 special ones from dust and you're max ramp

    That's only if you hit into her block excessively. If you just play it a little cool, he has no trouble ramping up against her. Even if you don't want to hit into her block at all, you can just dex her dashes for a bit and he'll still be ramped up in no time, especially in Battlegrounds where he starts with 25 Analysis Charges. I did some practice fights with my 6r1 Sentinel against my 7r2 Dust and had no problem taking her down whatsoever.

    First I pulled DPX and was very happy that I can Shbleed Deboof everybody.

    Then I pulled Sentinel, but haven't tried him out yet so as I reserve my judgment until I do try him out, so far I haven't heard a ton of great things about him. 😭
