The banquet is still bad and deserves it's complaint, but yes, the Christmas gift is great. Separate issues though. This certainly doesn't make up for Valiants getting shafted for the banquet, and it isn't supposed to because it's a separate thing, but it's still great.

I think it does tbh; compare valiants' gift to everyone else's. Wdym separate thing? It's still a feature of banquet, no? (/genuine question)

The Christmas gift has been a thing every year. It isn't part of any other event, it's just a straight up Christmas gift. And the gift for Valiants should be better than everyone else's, that's how progression based reward work. They did the gift right. The problem with the banquet, which again is a separate issue, and Valiants is that the progression was based on TB and Paragon and not Valiant. They didn't change the Christmas gift to make up the slack, it's just its own thing that would've (or at least should've) been what it is regardless of anything else.

Like I said, the gift is great. There's just no need to feel bad for complaining about the banquet because the complaints are justified. But we can certainly take the day to celebrate the wonderful gift they sent out.
