Offers to buy with gold

I have a lot of gold
and I don't know how to spend it, why don't you hace an event or dome offers to buy with gold? I remember that a couple of years they had some Pool offers.

    How much is a lot? There have been several times during my time in this game I thought I had more gold than I could possibly ever spend. Then I started ranking and whoops! all gone!

    Why they don’t do this anymore is because gold offers (offering resources for gold) had significant negative side effects. Key among them was the fact that it encouraged players to hoard gold. And not in the sense of collecting big piles of gold, but rather in the sense of players complaining they did not have enough gold *because* they had to save for the next gold sale. Or spent all their gold and complained it wasn’t fair they couldn’t participate in those sales because there’s not enough gold to do both.

    You’re supposed to use gold to do rank ups and level ups, and if you have extra that’s great. But that’s unfortunately not the psychology of a loud contingent of the playerbase. They have since graduated to applying that perspective to units.

    Those were nice to have offers for players with a ton of gold, but speaking as one of the players with tons of gold, those offers were not worth all the static they generated.

    This applies to why the banquet was so bad.
