one more lesson from Kabam

Honestly, when people started complaining about the banquet, I kind of thought it might change something. But no, it didn’t. Kabam pretty much showed us two things.

First, they don’t really care if people are mad. And to be fair, from a business point of view, they are probably right. Otherwise, it’s like having hundreds of bosses on the forum.

Second, and this is the big one, no matter how many people complain, there are still a lot of players ready to spend money. And not just spend, but spend more than expected. Kabam hit their goal and even passed it right at the end.

So really, why would they change anything?

There is no point talking about boycotts or getting mad. If you don’t want to spend, just don’t spend. I’ve stopped spending too, and this platinum pass is my only buy for 2025.

At the end of the day, you just have to accept there is always going to be a gap between players who spend and ftp. Like it or not, Kabam stays alive because of the big spenders, not the ones who throw in a few bucks now and then.

It’s sad, I don’t like it, but it’s just the way it is. So don’t get mad—just have fun and don’t lose your mind over it. Honestly, when I converted my playtime stats from hours to days in that email, I felt pretty bad seeing how many days in 2024 I spent only on this game.

What would you have had them change that wouldn't affect the whole event?.

If they didn't care that much, why has Crashed been commenting and giving updates and insights to the feedback they took? The guy is a dev and is in here spending his own time, interacting with the community.

You have to understand how companies look at how they process people being mad.
1. Is there a legit reason why they're mad? In this case, not really. There are ways the event could have been better but the amount of people who are mad about the crystals, aren't the focus.
2. Was it something a company did that caused an issue? Crashed stated they overvalued the keys. It wouldn't have changed the crystals.
3. Are the people complaining, just complaining to complain? This happens all the time because there's always someone who isn't happy. Give a 5% discount, they wanted 10%. So Kabam has to sort through all the non-complaints complaining to find the stuff worth noting.

Crystals were never going to change and they are part of the whole event. I'm sorry that your delusion led you to believe you were going to get 1mil Titan shards from crystals, but that's on you.

I never said anything about being delusional or expecting 1 million Titan shards. That’s something you made up and I know perfectly well how companies work, that’s exactly what I wrote, if you actually read it.

Player are free to spend, support, or even take Crashed out to dinner if it makes you happy, that’s not my problem.

You do know why nothing was changed mid event right? It's called the holidays and they have lives and families like everyone else. Their offices are closed except in case of emergency in game that requires immediate attention to fix like a massive game breaking bug.

From what I read in this post, the player understand how things work and is giving his opinion, do you always have to jump in ready to attack anyone? Do you love this game/company this hard, you have to run to the front with your shield?

My biggest complaint is they overvalue champion pulls. Getting a 7-star Basic or even Titan is a crapshoot if it’s going to meaningfully benefit your account but they are a LOT of fun to open. If the drop rate would have been closer to 5 percent total for any type of 7-star (in addition to the consolation prize shards drop rates), I don’t think it would have hurt the competitiveness of the game or Kabam and would have been a much more fun event.

My only complain is giving useless 7* trophy selector in milestones when it easily could be 7* class Nexus instead.
