What's the point of progression if Valiants are goin to be lumped in with lower progression levels?

All of game design (or any design really) is about compromises. The term “game balance” itself refers to compromises between competing requirements. If you believe everything is all or nothing you can’t be a game designer, or for that matter have any meaningful conversation with game designers. As a designer of stuff myself, whenever someone says “well, if you do this here you have to do this everywhere or you’re just a hypocrite” that’s the point where I check out of the conversation as having no point to continuing.
Yeah but like its more the fact if this event is giving r3s instead of progressing whats the point of having things progress locked if they can just wait u know, like if we gonna have locked progress stuff then like banquet does also need to have a progress lock because otherwise people wont bother progressing the game, as we seen people who arent even tb nor paragon has 7 r2s 5 full 7s.

See the nice thing about those people getting r3s 7* is they still have to complete the content to be valiant. Having those r3s aren't gonna do em any favors without actually doing the content too unlike thronebreaker now.

Helps them make better cry posts about unfair matchmaking in BGs, now they can say they are TB with only 2 or 3 r3s fighting Valiants with a full deck...

It's possible but I doubt it'll be anytime soon.

That's when we tell them it's a skill issue. Which it probably most certainly is anyways.

The main purpose of valiant title is to get t5cc easily 😂😂

They don't care about valiant players now, they only needed to tempt people to get Valiant while the majority of TB/paragon players spent money to get there.now it's just a trickle of players, why bother?just clump them together and save themselves time and money

I am an electrical engineer by background; I’ve designed a few things in that field, mostly long ago. An integrated stepper motor controller, an alarm circuit, small things. I’ve spent most of my life in various information systems and adjacent fields. I designed the magnetic tape import process for a VLSI mask aligner, I designed and implemented a patient billing bridge system for a hospital, an encrypted file transfer healthcare portal, I’ve designed enterprise networks, consolidated storage systems, disaster recovery environments. I’ve designed course ware for security policy lifecycle management. The list is honestly too long to list here.

Specifically in the area of games, I’ve designed a few things that ended up in live games. Mostly informally and piecemeal, although I did design a custom reward calculation system under contract for an MMO, which places me just barely within the realm of being momentarily a professional. Probably most of what I’ve done over the years was reverse engineer the designs and implementations of things in other games, analyze the resulting design, and provide feedback on how that design can be improved. That represents the bulk of what I’ve done in MCOC, after honestly taking a break from it for several years.

Well, for one, this one. I’m not (nor have I ever been) an employee or paid for services, but if you’re asking what games I’ve worked on this would be the latest one. I wrote some of the material for the Deadpool spotlight page among others. I worked with Kabam to refine the victory track medal design for the Season 19 revamp. I contributed extensively to the CCP working group of players that collaborated with Kabam on the arena redesign that reduced arenas from four to three.

I don’t want to bring excess baggage from prior lives, but back in the day my thing was MMOs. I used to beta test almost all of them, and some I got into very early alphas (i.e. the game literally did not exist yet in any form). The games I played the most and were the most involved with were (in no particular order) Star Trek Online, City of Heroes, The Matrix Online, Champions Online, Star Wars the Old Republic, DC Universe Online, Warhammer, and Rifts. My sole professional credit was in one of those.

Lmao you're not on the list. Ignores are shaded out and their comments are not seen. Your name is showing because you commented after them and I didn't fully crop that screenshot 😂

The skill level to get from paragon to valiant is none other than leveling 2x 7-stars to rank 3.

You worthless peasants are nothing but Paragons in tin-foil!
