Do the 7* deathless champs need to be awakened to get 7* Thanos

Do the 7* deathless champs have to be duped to easily get 7* Thanos?

I am missing 7* Deathless King Groot, still need one piece. If I spend the 5,000 units to buy the last piece I need can I reasonably expect to get Thanos or will King Groot need to be awakened? I would hate to spend the units and then realize I still can’t get 7* Deathless Thanos. Help?

    Unless their Awakening gives them a new ability that a fight relies on, it's pretty unlikely.

    So, if Guillotine or King Groot had to take a fight with the node (can't remember what it's called) where you only inflict damage by regenerating, that would be problematic, Unawakened.

    But the Deathless Mausoleum is going to be permanent content - I'd wait a few days, and see...

    Nobody knows. When the content drops, we will all know.
    But I highly doubt they're gonna lock the quest behind the sig ability of the deathless champs.

    Like I said elsewhere- I had to spend 10k units to get DKG. He is the only one unawakened… if that roadblocks me when the only thing we have been told all year is we just need the 7 star versions… that is completely unacceptable.

    I will just add further…. The 5k price tag per piece was the penalty for missing something for a 7 star deathless champ objective …. That’s what we were told from the beginning. We were told we need the 7 star versions for deathless thanos… not the awakened version. And there is not nor has their been anyway to awaken Vision or DKG except with limited time objectives.

    It would be a bait and switch scheme on a level Kabam hasn’t reached before. If they want to further penalize me with a couple of revives for missing DKG awakening … fine i guess. If they want to do anything more than that…. That would be quite the slap in the face.

    I doubt that they have to be awaken. I really hope they don't need to be awaken since I still need to get a piece for DKG for 5k unit. Grinding arena after the banquet to get enough units. He won't be awaken for sure.

    Where is this narrative even came from? Like the champs need to be awakened? It's pointless. You just need the champs, not their awakening

    Because some people thrive on assuming things and turning said assumptions into global drama based on nothing but speculation just to create extra drama to get a rise out of people.

    No different than people complaining that deathless Thanos isn't just being given out and we have to do a quest designed to get him.

    It is not a narrative…it is a question. I have assumed many things in this game only to find out something else entirely.

    I have been playing this game for 10 years and while there have been A LOT of great times there have been some tragic times also, 12.0, phone overheating, Moleman nerfed after YEARS, input issues, AI issues, not being able to get a legend title unless you have an iphone, bugs, etc…

    So I was just seeing if a Kabam employee would weigh in before I spent units on DKG and then still can’t get 7* Thanos.

    Multiple threads of late on this.. and Kabam can’t be bothered to just answer in the negative. Given the last few weeks of failed communication and false expectations… I think it’s ok to grant those of us with an unawakened champ some leeway to be a little on guard of where this could go. I’m not mad at all cause nothing has happened - but I am definitely concerned about it. I have 10k reasons to have that concern since it has an easy answer that hasn’t been stated.

    Nothing to assume u got the champ u can do the quest its that simple why u assuming u need the dup when nothing needs the sig for questing to be unlocked

    I mean the quest comes out in 3 days you can also exercise some basic patience instead of getting all worked up about a potential flaw this early
