I adore damage overtime characters that can just melt with Okoye looking like an easy to play one which is another bonus.
My only big nitpick is that I don't like the design of the gold, like the orange/brown fits her better when referring to Okoye designs however I adore the scarf

Anyway, she isn't "forced DEI". Okoye has been a character of Black Panther comics since the 90's. Her being added to the game where the other Black Panthers are only makes sense.
