We’re already mid January, tired of hearing about banquet already.

What are you hoping to get from it exactly?
    Information.
I would recommend tempering your expectations there. If you expected some detailed quantitative analysis of the performance of the banquet, those kinds of numbers are generally considered sensitive and not for disclosure.

To put it another way, every Realm Event analysis post I make, and the banquet one in very particular, is written without any discussion with the developers before I post it. Reason being, if I accidentally ask the wrong question and a dev accidentally answers it, it could place the entire contents of the post under NDA.

Crashed is going to see all the data before saying anything about the banquet, but at best he's only going to be able to say generalities about it.
    Fair
    Shouldn't take 10 days though.

Hello. I still plan on posting something and have a few things roughed out. However, as I mentioned in another post this year I'm going to wait for the data analysis to make sure my understanding is correct. I believe we are getting the analysis Jan 31, then it will take me a week or two to read it and update my thoughts about the event, so don't expect anything before mid Feb.

Devil's advocate here: why don't you just make a post with a post mortem with all of the information that you know now?
Needing to use forensic data analysis mid -February is fine, for internal use, but that's likely too late for customers and the viable communication timing window has closed.

    Respectfully,

I know the community is urgently looking forward to calling me a liar but nothing I have to say about it really impacts anything until 11 months from now. I'd rather do it correctly than do it quickly for no reason.
I understand and we would be mad if you just said the same as last year or you so it was fine for you it all depends one you’re data to

Respectfully, there isn’t anything you can say or do that will satisfy the player base. I’d personally rather have you focusing on your actual job than having to spend what sounds like a lengthy task doing data analysis and then writing up a post on the back of it it. For the majority of people to disagree and just drag out banquet gripes into February? Honestly my biggest annoyance was that it was so hyped up by you in the live stream that it just felt so flat when the crystals were so awful I just hope that for 2025 there are fresh ideas for either the banquet or a replacement event that feels like value for money.

I know a lot of the community respects you a great deal.
You conceded that you made an error with the composition of the SBCs, and totally owned that situation, which takes a great deal of courage.

I'd argue though, that information flow about the banquet event has a compounding impact daily, because players really want closure. The longer it doesn't happen the more it compounds.

For me personally, the Christmas day gift and then the 10 unit T3A/T6B totally made up for the gripes I had about those SBCs and the structure of the event, and I thank you for it, genuinely.

Mid Feb, players feedback data should be fully taken into account by then, not only the actual "data".

    Hi Crashed,

I don’t think anybody wants to call you a liar at all. I’m sure the Grand Banquet interactions is gonna leave plenty of ruffled feathers on both sides but I can’t see anybody who wants to take the time to provide feedback in good faith is looking to dunk on you in such a way. At least I hope not.

I do feel that the Livestream set a level of expectation that in hindsight we’re never going to be met well, and there was conflicting communications from my perspective about rewards budgets and the realm event because for Valiant Players ranging from FTP to $500 of spending… if the realm event was truly on top of the total rewards then that segment of players truly was under allocated for.

Either due concerns about the whaliest whales or lower progression this segment of the player base was not well budgeted for and had to rely on the realm event to get our units worth. Sure things worked out and we eventually did, but it doesn’t feel good being told that the realm events are on top of the event when they really weren’t for this cross section of players. Then the realty sets in that end game reward budget goes to everyone and that’s why the progression tuned crystals felt worse than ever… it just ruined the RNG fun elements of the event while devaluing progression for your most dedicated player base.

Thanks though appreciate you answering the when to look out for your analysis. But yesh, not looking to call anyone a liar.

    I think the summary is:
    - feedback by end of Feb
    - no compensation for 2024 which is what the community was expecting
    - any changes made will be seen in 2025 (maybe in a superior banquet event)

People weren't expecting compensation, or at least not most of us.. you are a person not people...
I'm not expecting compensation, I opened very few crystals, enough for the she hulk piece. For me the event wasn't worth it otherwise so I didn't go further.

i thought the rewards as a whole were pretty good which a lot of players seem to ignore.

without giving away too much of the inner working of the business, is it possible in your write-up to explain in layman's terms the consequences of buffing the SBC the way the community wanted and maybe gives a few examples?

hopefully it can change a few minds.

    Information.

    That is incredibly vague.

So are you going to be happy if you get something along the lines of…

    1. The banquet happened
    2. Units were spent
    3. Crystals were opened
    4. Some people were sad
    5. Some people were happy
    6. Some people didn’t care
    7. This is information

The problem with vague requests or expectations is you’re likely to get vague responses, or not what you were particularly looking for.
