I had the same problem. Clearing my phone cache and restarting the app resolved it, at least long enough for me to fight him again. But it did cost me a revive.
Can anyone else who is experiencing this try and clear your cache like jdschw did? Also what devices are folks playing on? Seems like its probably device agnostic since a variety of folks are reporting but still good to know

I've had insane amounts of lag generally over the several months which makes the game unplayable. I've noticed this especially when using characters or fighting against Dust or Negasonic. That was really "fun" when I fought Dust in AW on a hard node.
I'm using an iPhone XS Max. I was thinking that maybe the characters with fancier graphics - e.g. Dust with the particles cause issues for old phones, but I have experienced this with normal characters too. I've just lost a fight to Heimdall in AoA using Deathless She Hulk. There was no way for me to evade when the game starting lagging/stuttering. I haven't tried the AW Showcase yet.
I have noticed my phone getting hot when playing MCOC so maybe that's an issue. When I use Google Maps in my car on a hot day, & my phone gets really hot, the phone stops responding until it cools. Maybe this is the issue, at least in my case.

Happened to me using Ironheart. Can't recall if I had a Sentinel or Green Goblin relic attached (definitely one of those two).

Dave, after the new update, fights on some specific stages are very laggy, including that AW showcase bullseye stage, any fight on that stage is gonna lag...i wish there were any options to lower the quality on stage backgrounds..

iPhone 15 pro. Latest OS 18.1.1, Ironheart, Sentinel Relic. I wasted so many revives on this fight because the fight would basically jump frames to the defeat screen before I could even start the fight. The lag in this fight made me not want to run it back for exploration and I burned a ton of revives I needed for AOA gauntlet

On a Samsung S21 Ultra while on wifi and I had to close the game and reopen it to get the lag to stop.

It's honestly long overdue for Kabam to invest in a quality assurance team. There's no conceivable reason that a gaming company bringing in this much profit can't invest in a team that ensures bugs don't occur as frequently as MCOC does. Every time new content drops there's a bug
The fact that Kabam has still not realized the problem is that stage is just disheartening. That stage has been a lag fest for a long time now. It should be removed from the stage pool until they find the memory leak or coding issue.
For those unfamiliar, it's the stage with the large head floating in space, with the arcade machine on the right.
Basically any fight that you get that stage for, it's a revive sink.
@EgyptOverseer appears to have the correct take. The stage is screwed up. Been known for a while but Kabam just puts the most annoying fight of the showcase on it…. So it becomes a revive drain twice if you want to push through. I am sure it’s just a coincidence. Why they didn’t just change the stage to make it fair when these issues were addressed almost two weeks ago? Well… draw your own conclusions

There’s not gonna be an update. Like a .01% chance we get some sort of small health compensation later. Otherwise, if you have spare revives, it’s just push through.

As someone who have played mcoc with massive lag before, bullseye fight was just another day in the office.
