Excess Elder marks are not going to stash?

  Treasury accounts don’t overflow to Stash.
  
  **but if they are part of a claimable reward, you can delay claiming the “reward” from stash. As in the “first five BG match” package at the start of each BG season (can keep that package unclaimed in stash until you have enough room in your Marks Treasury limit to not lose any).
  
  Same for Glory, Mysterium, Incursion Artifacts, etc.

  Yep, I discovered this recently, I've probably lost 10k+ marks in total, I didn't realise the cap was so low at only 9k..
  
  Since I found out I've been using marks almost exclusively in BGs and have used them all the way up to GC, even then it's hard to stay under the 9k cap.
  
  My advice is to delay claiming the marks at the start of the season after you've done your first 5 fights as there's like 2k+ marks there which you're effectively deleting if you claim it and you're close to cap, like I tend to be.

  BG elder marks capped at 9k and trophy tokens capped at 150k. Excess are lost so spend them.

  Unfortunately this is how “currencies” are handled by the game. Same thing happens with glory, incursion artifacts, etc. Sometimes the game warns you when you’ll go over the max, but otherwise have to be diligent to spend before claiming over the max.

  This is what I do. I’m frantically trying to play enough matches to burn existing marks so I don’t lose them when I claim.
  
  There is a price to pay, however: you will be treated to this message popping up each and every match you play until you claim them…

  As others have said, it’s currency capped. Main reason is to prevent hoarding so that people don’t have absurd amounts of elder marks when special battleground events happen like that cap commissary or realm event.

  You can still just buy them though, and the cap wouldn't do anything about that. P2P won't be stopped 💪
