Do you guys think that the title "Daredevil: Born Again" is referring to the religion?

Like a Born again Christian. I know that Daredevil is Catholic, so what do you think it means??

It's a reference to the highly acclaimed story of the same title from Frank Miller's run in the 1980s when Kingpin finds out Matt Murdock is Dardevil and sets about destroying his life, but Matt comes through it all and is "born again" in a metaphorical sense.

This. One of the best stories in any format, not only in comics.

I don't think Christianity has the concept of rebirth, correct me if I'm wrong.

Since they already did that storyline during the Netflix series, it is more of a nod to the show being born again. Agree with @LuciusVorenus on one of the best stories. Not hard to get excited for March 4th.

Not word for word but being a born again Christian is a euphemism for being saved by Jesus. I could be wrong though.

So the phrase "Born again Christian" is genuinely new to you?

It's about a spiritual, rather than a literal rebirth.

    So not reincarnation/past lives etc.

It's very very obviously about religion

Catholicism and specifically the colloquial concept of “catholic guilt” are central to DD over decades of stories.

Go read the original “Born Again” comics run by Frank Miller. Great stuff and it’s been collected into cost-effective trade paperbacks.

Thanks, is that a good starting point for Daredevil?

That's a good starting point. Also strongly recommend Chip Zdarsky 2019 run afterwards. One of the best modern comic books and what made me fall in love with the character

Overall nearly all Daredevil runs starting in the 80s were very strong, often intertwining with Punisher and Spider-Man, they are a great read.

I remember reading The Death of Jean DeWolf many years ago. I've still got the graphic novel kicking around somewhere. That was a crucial storyline for both Spider-Man and Daredevil, and also related to Venom if I remember right.

Ngl I don't traditionally read comics before 2000, mainly because I am not enamoured by the art style but I will try it out. You lot have to read the thor god of thunder comic run though, and the whole of the champions run, or avengers v xmen

Presumably doc oc has a phd. Hence uses the title dr.

And dr strange is a medical doctor, hence the title dr.
