Hello. The LNY event had gotten stale over the years. This year we have decided to mix things up a bit and celebrate some different events.

Don't worry, the rewards (especially the Units) will be included as rewards in these other events.
I wouldn't call it stale. It one of the better short events that's still really rewarding. Even if the OCD from odd amounts of shards always left an itch you can't scratch.

I got a suspicious feeling it'll be a realm event this time. Normals fights across the game for milestones for envelopes.

Ive come to realise I enjoy the gamble of opening things. It's why I opened a few SBC, in hope of getting something good and beating the odds.

Lunar event was similar, but usually free. Get some red envelopes and hope to hit the jackpot. It was culturally interesting too as I've seen it in some programs since when I watch TV with my daughter. Good for DE&I awareness.

Hopefully you can find a way of bringing other cultures in this year if this one doesn't make it, not sure if it will fit in with timelines though as you do plan quite a few months ahead.

That lunar quest event with revs and envelopes with basic 1*,2* defender's . And a king Groot and hulk

Would you have felt differently if they announced it would be canceled a few weeks in advance? Honestly curious.

Companies put themselves in no-win situations sometimes with an event / promotion like this. If companies ever want to stop doing the whatever, the presumption immediately becomes that they don’t value the underlying culture / people / holiday when in fact they are probably just making a business decision.

Yes since its a change we have always had one for each lunar new years it just going sucks if was announced like no lunar new year anymore however the rewards be scattered else where it would feel better than the day of the lunar new year sucks since we could of had this been announced last week or earlier in the week since everyone was waiting on the announcement of hey this quest is up and calendar etc have fun

Maybe the new stuff will be better… I hope so. But the community left hanging here wondering what’s going on when Kabam knew nothing was coming for the event just feels bad.

Yeah. Like when they waited until the expected launch to say that the Gifting event was going to be changed. Oh wait... that's not what happened at all. An expected event was changed and they gave plenty of notice. It didn't go over well, but at least it was communicated.

If it was stale, that is fine. If they found a better way, more power to them. It would just be nice to get a heads up before having to ask questions.

The question, as far as i’m aware, was answered a few days before January was coming to a end when there were other question regarding the same topic release more then a week ago. A response to the lack of communication shouldn’t be it wasn’t guaranteed, that just seems like terrible practice no matter how you do it.

For something that was reoccurring for a long time, it’s natural to come to expect it. It’s not about having LNY event happen, but communicating with the player-base your plans when they asked for it or doing it on your own initiative to just show you care about the bond your player base has created with the game.

People are not asking for the most ridiculous things. It’s nothing even game breaking. It’s just communication. Most likely the intention to not have LNY would have been made prior to January since it takes a while to code an event. So if they had the forums, discord and a pre recorded live stream, why was it so hard to just say ‘we know you as a player-base come to expect lunar new year, however we decided to switch it up this year and came up with new events where you can get similar rewards throughout the year.’ It’s not even hard, some people will be Disappointed and some probably angry, but at least we could respect the communication effort and instead of waiting weeks to hear about the lunar new years detail we can just forget about it rather then building wasted anticipation. What’s the point of being excited for anything this year if we shouldn’t expect it until it’s announced some random Tuesday morning.

I only expect communication for events happening. Communication for events that would change the game like ending AQ/AW/BGs. This isn't the first time it's happened. Like the 90 calendar for Summoner Appreciation. It went away with no communication. We didn't get Halls of Healing or Fortune this last time either.

Just saying, some events change or don't happen.
