    Several times when this complaint has come up, I’ve taken a Cav or TB alt to GC just to prove a reasonably knowledgeable player can do it even with a mid tier roster. After doing that about six times, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s always possible, regardless of VT meta. There is no meta that blocks decently skilled players with moderate rosters, because there’s no meta that ultimately prevents higher skilled players from beating peers towards the end of the season and grinding into GC, no matter how restrictive it might appear to be.
    How far can a roster with only max 6-Star R1 with 5-Star equivalent, get to?

    19 R3s, 13 R2s, 43 R5s and 28 of them ascended.

    I have a similar experience this season, normally I’m in the GC by the end of week 2, this season I entered the GC yesterday.

    My normal win rate is 85-15, this season its probably closer to 60-40.

    The attacker pool is to restricted this season, and the good counters for the badas defenders are pretty much useless in the VT meta. I had to dig deep in my 7R1 pile, to find a few extra attackers, that wouldn’t lose 30-40%+ health on debuffs. I guess, thats a me problem. But when you have 75 champs at 7R2+ or R5, you shouldn’t have to use 7R1s.

    I don’t want to jinx it, as I’m one round short of making it into GC but…. I haven’t needed to delve into using 7R1s or 6R4s, and I haven’t ranked anyone specifically for any metas (because I personally consider that a waste to rank champions just to handle 4 weeks of competition). I’ve left many meta-recommended ranks ups at 7R1 because they’re not my cup of tea in the long run.

    Using a mix of patience (just playing enough to meet the objectives till they refresh), prioritizing rank ups that have use to me both in and out of BGs, being lucky and pulling good champions from crystal openings, and then strategizing drafts and match ups, I’ve had a similar win rate as with previous seasons.

    There’s different strategies one can use if the primary focus is just making it to GC.

    Bro trust me all you need is 4-5 top science options and you're set.

    Dpx, silk, hulk, titania, luke, spam, Dthanos - These dudes took about 95% of matches for me this meta, And I'm one medal short of gc. I'm pretty sure you'll have atleast 4 of these so you're set.

    U should watch other youtubers play BGs even with big decks(20+ R3) they stream for 3-4 hr they get barely any points in GC . Many times -100 point is very common
    & They spent more time grinding BGs

    What u have is an unrealistic expectations of where u should be

    This is not the first time they used decay, or a champ restricted meta. When you said I made it to GC various times are we talking about 2 or 3 times?

    As a fellow BG rageposter, this whole season- in both metas are much much less restrictive than the past ones have been.

    How far do you think such a roster ought to get?

    My guess, above average skill, maybe middle of VT.
    I can only reached Gold IV, so I should be below average.
