Man, it's been a hot minute since I ran into a pauser.
Is this still a viable strategy overall?? Like, how far can it take you? Gamma?? Mysterium?? C1???

I pause but only when I push an enemy to sp3 or I took too long to take out Nick fury’s first life down to 1%

I don’t think they paused. I think they got the bug that doesn't properly record the end of the fight and restarts it with only a few seconds left on the timer. It happens to me a few times every season. A couple of weeks ago it happened to me where I quickly finished the fight then got kicked out to the main menu so I restarted the game, then 10-15 seconds later it pulled me back into the fight where both of us had full health, but they were only three seconds left on the timer and the result looked very much like what you have there

I know, I keep trying to find a good reason to rank him up, and even use him in BG which is a terrible format for him. He's not a strong champ by any means.

But I promise you this, if I get a rank-up gem that can only be used on a champ named Ant-Man, he's getting it, no questions asked.

I'm all in for utility but his damage, is extremely bad. I mean, as bad as groot and I'm not Exagerrating. I tried him (6* r3 sig20) against mojo in grand master Gyantlet, it was a clean solo which took 13 minutes. He is one of the middest 7*s easily.

Yeah, dropping out/crashing the game could do it - occasionally, at times when I've been playing on trains, I've had delays in loading BGs so long that I've entered a fight with only three seconds left to fight, too.

I don't think you were using him properly if it took 13 minutes.
He's not a fast champ by any means, but once he's ramped his damage is good.
You just have to keep intercepting or punishing heavies to maintain the debuffs. But not everyone can do that, so that's why people mostly avoid him. He has a high skill ask....
