Battlegrounds banning question

Why do people say you no longer have to ban someone once you have them? I see this frequently and don't understand the logic. Just saw a thread saying to rank 4 enchantress so you never have to fight her again. How does that make sense?

The other player will always ban your champ, so you don't have to ban theirs

Didnt u know that if both ban same champ means u had 1 useful less ban picked as champ bans go both ways so u kinda want to prevent doubling bans

I did not know this is how banning works in BG now it makes sense why i never see certain champs i am hunting for pop up in the draft

I learned this 3 weeks back as a diamond 3 player sadness

Bans works both ways, That's why I always ban Champs I don't have and mostly my opponents ban the Champs I don't like to fight who are in my deck (Onslaughts, Enchantresses, Serpents, Bullseyes, etc)

if u at a lower level valiant with under 10 r3s. usually ppl will ban among ur top r3s even tho they necessarily arent the most ban worthy. i usually see people banning my sig 140 guardian in bgs even if they dont have significant mutants.

Lol, once a player banned my onslaught and also my jack even tho my onslaught was 6r4 and his was 7r3 sig 200.

If u have the most meta options ( serpent, thanos, enchantress, photon, etc) at high ranks , then u might try to ban some creative options than just banning annoying defenders, like lets say ur opponent has a r3 shatra as the only serpent counter, and he might not ban ur serpent thinking he will draft shathra, but u end up banning shathra, tht is a really fun scenario.

Tbh I and most of us learnt it in the hard way... Nowhere in the game this concept is mentioned clearly.

Most people likely won't read it... It should be more explicitly mentioned on the first bg match played by the player.

true. this hurts the lower progress level players even more, as mostly the champs they upgrade are tough defenders and attackers, which they are prone to banning themselves. Hurts not being able to draft my own serpent or photon, even tho i banned it for the opponent, not knowing in advance tht im self-sabotaged.

I mean, I understand that most people might miss this since you’re focusing on who to ban, but it DOES say this at the top of the screen before every match…

They even made both capitalised to highlight it

    I'm sorry, those are words.

    We need hieroglyphics here.

Why would u ban ur best champ?
Because he didn’t know how the ban system worked

I get that but i meant in a different sense of u would still choose different even if u didnt know as ur mind can think of what happenss if i ban this champ which is my top will i see as picks are rng as 30 champs in a deck if all bans are different thats 6 champs banned meaning 24 champs to show which u might not see them all

Yep it’s there. Many people don’t read and assume it works the same as War with one-sided bans.
