Best Champs for Nightmare Raids

I'm thinking for Assault Jack, Sentinel, and Kitty might be really good. But what do you guys think of Tactician and Vanguard? Who do you plan on bringing? Have any of you tried champs like Kushala, Knull, and Chavez? Will vanguard champs like silk and luke cage still do well? I have to plan 30 people's roles so any advice would be very appreciated.

Glad you started this convo. There don’t seem to be many very good options, especially in vanguard.

Seems like we will want

— non-contact mediums (Korg)
— prowess removal (WX and Apoc)

I guess Iron man is really the only one who does any of that. All the science champs don't have anything they could do to counter any of the defenders abilities

Keep in mind that korg should have 0 purify chance in nightmare raids, so you can always Parry LLLL him to remove his shield.

Will want champions that can nuke fairly quickly like silk and Iron Man in vanguard.

Storm will be really nice for Assault.

Sersi was one of the best tacticians before and is a tactician again, idk how she would do there though with the slightly more complex fights and reliance on ending combos with a medium attack.

Idk but Adam is still in the pool so I’ll be using him for whatever role he is. He’s really good in raids

Yeah, Adam seems like a good option for tact. They added hulkling back in but I'm not sure how he'd do with korg

Korg does 13k damage per contact medium hit on him, and on path 3 you could potentially have multiple 4M prompts in a row.

Also, much like IW, the window where you can do full damage will be very brief, and there will be a long ramp up to get to that window again.

Korg won't purify anything and you can just light attack him constantly. Also everytime his shield comes back he gets one less charge so it's easier to break over time

This is the kind of problem I’m anticipating. “Hey Korg can’t shrug, but oops, the fight prompts require you to hit him with a ton of mediums if you want to gain charges…”

Throw in the penance stuff to where if you don't complete an objective in time and you get punished

but that's why I think non contact medium champs or kitty will be really good

How well do y'all think DPX would work for assault? I remember he was quite good before

Sentinel might be great for assault. 2/4 we're mutants and sentinel food. Wpx he can shut his regen and apoc won't get extra charges against him. He is tanky too so cna block korg specials.

If you're using sentinel please please take delibitate boost and stick to sp1s. Dot boost sucks for him.

You're right. I meant to say pick the boost that gives debilitate, even though it's named wierdly. There is another one called debuff siphon which increases your dot effects damage, and is recommended for sentinel in this sheet, but it works poorly on him. I prefer extra debuff duration he's a monster with it and you can stacks 18 armor breaks easily.

It's not really a problem just gonna be harder for obvious reasons. Right now most people clear the whole Raids map on day three so this shouldn't be a huge deal, they're called Nightmare Raids for a reason.

In my mind there’s a difference between deliberately challenging content vs an unintentional interaction between nodes, champs, defenders, etc.

Highly doubt it, unless there are actual bugs. Regular Raids have been a walk in the park even with the revive nerf according to my alliance teammates, if you're all endgame players shouldn't be a big issue.

Who says what you described is an unintentional interaction though? The way I see it, it's 100% intentional so you can't just breeze through that health cap in under a minute which is good. Nightmare Raids should be harder considering the rewards.

Only the current one is very easy since they all are easy defenders and have less attack rating. The previous ones were moderately tough, especially the invis women one, only possible to do that itemless cuz of revive carries.

They were somewhat challenging especially since rewards were meh however, these aren't regular Raids they're called Nightmare Raids for a reason. They're supposed to be hard so again unless there's an actual interaction that isn't intended then I don't see any issues with this Korg, who they've already nerfed mind you cause the shrugging off is half the reason his thorns are so annoying.
Now, will it be a long fight cause of the shield? Absolutely, do I think it'll he impossible without units, not unless there are bugs or your teammates just aren't too good.

They should just bring back the previous revive system ngl. Also that Korg looks rough for Vanguard, most of that pool is debuff inflicting champs except a small few.

i was thinking that dust might be good for both jabari n korg n should overall deal good enough dmg to apocalypse as it doesnt rely on dot that apocalypse will just become immune too, just worried that the rampup might be too long or something as ive never seen anyone use her for raids

That’s one where Vanguard makes a couple runs to max out charges and then saves their revives and lets Assault and Tactician go to work.

Besides that, Chee’ilth plus the armor champs (Iron Man, Red Skull, Omega Sentinel, Colossus, Fantman) should be good.

Is there an updated list of non contact or energy hits that will prevent thorns damage out somewhere?

@Hijackwhoop what am I missing in her kit that keeps her from thorns damage? If you’re talking about her haymaker, I feel like there is going to be way too much going on to get the timing perfect when he has his rock stacks.
