Best Power Control Champ As Of 2025?

I think it’s gotta be Dormammu. He is barely talked about. Ending in a medium attack from your combo power drains the opponent every time. No limit, and it’s 100%. Who’s your favourite power control champ?

I think Dormammu is a little bit underrated.

    1) he has great power control in which he can power drain the opponent every medium ending combo attack which is strong.

    2) his damage could be a bit better but still mid.

    3) he has strong immunities. Bleed and poison. He also has 80% energy resistance with mephisto synergy.

Although it is situational a bit.. I'm surprised Warlock is not mentioned here as a top power controller

Without masteries he requires attempts at healing, but with Masteries active and no bleed immunity he can create his own opportunity

But for what he does, he does it so easily and well.. opponent simply cannot heal (without any debuffs) and may never throw *any* specials if played correctly

Ah, I see he was mentioned actually.. whoops:)

    FAM is good as well

I have done fights without baiting a single special

P99 can end fights in BG's without the enemy throwing a special.

I always thought a cool benefit of playing Valkyrie was that the enemy gets a reduced amount of combat power just because you're hitting into the block all the time.

No discussion about best Power Control champion is complete without mentioning this bad lad...

Hulkbuster is another champion who can push through opponents without letting them through a single special, even in Endgame content - he was the backbone of my ten-year-challenge Necropolis run, particularly since I opted to clear a path through Silver Centurion....

And whilst Dormammu may have a slightly safer version of Power Control, he's incredibly slow due to his pitiful damage. With stacking damage via Shocks and Armour Breaks, Hulkbuster has the damage capability to stand tall in any conversation about "best all-round Power Control champion".

A lot of tech champs can be great at this.
But you really need to run Collar Tech 5/5 mastery for maximum control.
Also, awakened Red Skull is right up there with the rest of the options listed here.

Mysterio :D (Okay maybe it's not true but I do have power drain so let me have this moment!)

    Ahem.

Okay he’s probably not the absolute best power control champ because there’s a lot of things that can turn him off but when he works, he really works. Also how many of your power controllers can completely shut down Enchantress?

Champions like DOC OC and NEBULA are only useful when A.I. is cooperative.

i'd have said magik, had we had a higher rarity of hers.
Otherwise? doom, Vision (both) are quite good. Nimrod, after sm specials, can keep opponent power at 0 for sm time.

Doc Ock doesn’t really need cooperative AI. As long as the opponent is not literally holding block for 10 seconds straight it’s usually fine, which would kill a lot of other champs too. What he needs is a matchup that isn’t capable of fighting back too much, which would be debuff control and annoying defensive mechanics like unstoppable or evade. He also prefers when he can reliably parry for quick openings.

Also come on, if you’re gonna label champs like Nefaria and Chavez as having great power control (only works in situations with ability power gain) and freaking Rogue as “situationally useful” then Doc Ock deserves to be on the list somewhere.
