Back in the game after 4 long years

Hi, as the title says, I left the game in 2021 and just returned in 2025. So many changes! I've been playing for over a week now. Who is the current meta? Who are the top 10 best champions?

They're giving me a 6-star class Nexus crystal as a returning player. Which class should I choose? Which class is the safest option?

I'm currently Thronebreaker and aiming for the next title. Any advice?

    Watch some YouTube tier lists to see the best champions. You should be able to get through act 7 easily if you could do act 6 pre nerf. Don't rank up too many 6 stars because you'll start using a lot of 7 stars soon.

    You're going to want to complete Act 7-9.1 and fully explore 8-9.1 as those have the best rewards for the least amount of grind/difficulty.
    After completing Act 6, I was able to go through the rest in a few weeks.
    The only fight that roadblocked me was a Black Widow Clairvoyant boss somewhere in Act 8. I literally had to restart the whole path and bring Void with me.
    So that would be my recommendation, try to get a 6* Void if you don't have one.

    Interested to know why you quit playing in 2021 which is a weird time as most people picked up playing games during that period when they were "stuck" at home

    Also interested to know why you suddenly return after 4 years

    And also how you find the AI now?

    Don't forget to complain that BG's isn't fair and deathless pieces are too expensive.

    Use the term slap in the face and mention you are F2P at every opportunity. If you don't like a reply here on the forum, call the poster a whale with no life.

    2021?

    You left around the time Kabam was upgrading some old champs; and a lot of them got better.

    So, forget what you think you know about which champions are good:
    - Bishop doesn't self-destruct anymore, and he's great now.
    - So is Punisher-2099, America Chavez, Classic Iron Man, and Superior Iron Man
    - Terrax, Nova, Hawkeye and Colossus are solid
    - And Juggernaut and Deadpool X-Force are (I'm not kidding!) ridiculously overpowered nukes that can kill anything that moves...

    Better to continue your streak and never come back. You came back at the worst time. This is kabam's worst year.

    We have 7* champs now, and man get ready for the ride lol. They are in the basic crystal, and one called the Titan crystal.

    We have r4 7*'s now lol. I don't have a single one, but other players do. It takes 3 T7 basic catalysts to r4 a 7*. Highest rank they can reach is r6.

    We have content called Battlegrounds where you can fight against other players to climb up the totem pole of rewards. You can build your battledeck of champs, ban 3 of the opponents champs, draft 7 of your champs, place them on attack/defense, then play 2 or 3 rounds against your opponent.

    We suffered through a demoralizing, death demanding, soul snatching quest called Necropolis, and every 'season of pain' content called "Winter of Woe", "Spring of Sorrow" "Summer of Suffering", and "Autumn of Agony". They had just ONE mini boss. At the end of the seasons, we had to fight all of the mini bosses, plus 2 new ones and a final boss. The Seasons were recently combined to form the "Epoch of Pain" quest that introduced the god of War....ARES. 😤

    Serpent, Bullseye, Onslaught, Enchantress, Sentinel, Photon were some new additions in your absence, and are some A-holes on defense without STRONG counters. Bullseye is so annoyingly OP that he's had quit a few "counters" released for him, but they didn't really counter him lol. Many of of us call him "Bullsh¡t", or "Bully" lol.

    Dazzler, Spiral, Okoye, Shuri, IronHeart, Shocker, and more, are new attackers since your absence.

    Some Mystcs have been good counters to Serpent. Spiral is one of them.

    OG Storm, Dazzler, Okoye, Jabari Panther are good counters to Bullseye. Okoye is one of the best.

    IronHeart, Havok, Jack O' Lantern, and more are strong counters to Onslaught, and ✨️Captain Marvel✨️ (CMM--my GIRL lol) is one of the best nukes for him.

    Sentinel, Medusa, Juggs, Black Panther Civil War--have had a buffs. Phoenix and Cyclops are getting one.

    Sentinel is now armor break immune (which really sucks 🤬) and is overly tanky on defense in Battlegrounds

    Medusa and Juggs now deal more damage.

    Photon is not as much of a headache now as she was when she first arrived, but is still a pain to a lot of players.
    There is so much more to catch up on, but I'm done lol

    Overload used to be a point of weakness: When he went into Overload, it used to be him (instead of the opponent) who took the Energy burst damage.
