They missed an opportunity to make a lot of money like they did with the Count Nefaria milestone store track. You got so much more than just a duped Nefaria. Its for the best though cause I probably would have spent on that.

I'm sure they had a reason for doing it this way. It's not like they just make these decisions in the dark, they have tons of data.
I would guess they assumed that the buyers were in two camps: (1) people who would spend only if there were actual deals and (2) people who would spend to get Bastion no matter what.
By making the offer this way, they would get group (2) to spend both during this sale and during the upcoming Spring cleaning sale.

Yeah I might have been willing to go for a Nefaria type sale. But not $500 for one champ, even if he is great.

Where is this deal? I'm looking in the Summoner's Market, but don't see it.

I'm actually super grateful for this deal.
They took all temptation away; it's literally just a 0 to $500 milestone, with no rewards in-between and no offers other than low RNG Bastion crystals.

legit, the “sunken cost falacy” is a tool Kabam marketing (all marketing) uses a TON. ‘well, I’m already this far in, what’s a little more…” also common among active and recovering addicts? I’m sure that’s coincidence.

guys, FOMO sucks, but these monthly spend events are good for the game. i'm not touching it and didn't buy nefaria, jack, or spend on the recent SAGA events, but this funds the game, whales get what they want, kabam is happy, and you don't fall behind that much either.

they've moved away from arenas and shifted to selling champions. this is pretty good if you have the income and want to target a champ and if you can't afford it, you're not falling behind that much.

i didn't spend for nefaria or jack but 5-6 months later i managed to get both and duped (i did whale on cyber monday and keep up with content), so you don't have to whale out every month. if you get unlucky you might have to wait 8-9 months, that's the way it works....OR you could spend $500 now. the whales are literally just buying time.

this game is fair for what it is.

I mean… does it fund the game or does it fund failing passion projects and bigger boats?

Because if these things funded the game we might have better quality control than the player base.
bugs and monetization are two different things. it might not feel good at the moment but their spending model is pretty fair.

Tempting? $500 with the game in this state? Not to mention even the deal is currently bugged people aren't getting 7* Bastion after spending the $500 lmfao this is why we can't have nice things, all it takes is them dangling one thing they know a lot of whales will go crazy for and suddenly everyone forgets the garbage state the game is currently in with all the bugs and outdated rewards.

And the fact that kabam instantly responds and fixed a bug like this is not surprising.

Oh, so by funding the game you don’t mean reinvesting cash into it to make sure these perform well. You mean funneling money to other things… like boats.

Remember it’s only pixels. When they decide to turn off the servers, you’ll have nothing at all

That will happen a lot faster without people spending, so I'm grateful they do.
