guys, FOMO sucks, but these monthly spend events are good for the game. i'm not touching it and didn't buy nefaria, jack, or spend on the recent SAGA events, but this funds the game, whales get what they want, kabam is happy, and you don't fall behind that much either.
they've moved away from arenas and shifted to selling champions. this is pretty good if you have the income and want to target a champ and if you can't afford it, you're not falling behind that much.
i didn't spend for nefaria or jack but 5-6 months later i managed to get both and duped (i did whale on cyber monday and keep up with content), so you don't have to whale out every month. if you get unlucky you might have to wait 8-9 months, that's the way it works....OR you could spend $500 now. the whales are literally just buying time.
this game is fair for what it is.
I mean… does it fund the game or does it fund failing passion projects and bigger boats?
Because if these things funded the game we might have better quality control than the player base.
bugs and monetization are two different things. it might not feel good at the moment but their spending model is pretty fair.
Oh, so by funding the game you don’t mean reinvesting cash into it to make sure these perform well. You mean funneling money to other things… like boats.
i'm sure kabam wants some of that cash reinvested but netmarble says no. if you're unhappy with the game, then i wouldn't spend but my point was that you're not missing out on much cause these events aren't as economy breaking as the community makes it sound.
Remember it’s only pixels. When they decide to turn off the servers, you’ll have nothing at all
Right, but that applies to both the money people spent and the time they invested in playing. If you're not playing and/or spending for the temporal enjoyment, then you need a reality check about what you think the game is....
Although, I'll be around for another couple of days, then disappear for 4 or 5 months or so, then come back for more banter and dialogue, with the useful idiots, Although I don't know any of them on here. ))+
I'm actually super grateful for this deal. They took all temptation away; it's literally just a 0 to $500 milestone, with no rewards in-between and no offers other than low RNG Bastion crystals.
Honest to god i felt the same way. I went to buy my monthly support bundle and saw the major whale milk. And im not against when they did the nefaria one but such a blatant grab at a 0/1 objective? Just gave me (an admitted spender) an uncomfortable feeling. I think ill pass this time. Im curious to see what the streamers think.
So you buy 5 Odins, get ~19000 units and a seven star Bastion? Honestly not the worst value in the world, especially heading into spring and J4 sales.
I would be inclined to agree with that, but unfortunately, we don't know what will be available in spring cleaning.
If recent events like the banquet, this $500 champ with no milestone rewards along the way, and the RNG rewards I'm seeing in Nightmare Raids are any indication, Kabam is severely out of touch with where the game economy is.
I think @Kabam Crashed has even acknowledged that they let things go a little too fast with the rollout of 7*, and they needed to pump the brakes a bit. I'm not in a position to deny that that's what their data shows, but it doesn't change the fact that end game valiants expect more.
Ultimately, Kabam really missed the boat here. They'll no doubt make money off this Bastion sale, but they could have made so much more by adding milestone rewards along the way. And I say that knowing that I would have been at least one individual who would have gone for it, but as it is, there's not a champ in this game worth $500 by itself, and I just don't have faith the spring cleaning deals will be that good. Feel free to change my mind by pulling back the ole transparency curtain and telling us what those deals will be. Perhaps I'll have a change of heart.

Now you have me looking at Namor's Sunken Riches, lol...
I was actually looking to spend some money today because I got a bunch of new champs from the Titan openings and wanted some rank-up mat deals. Oh well, I guess I can save my money for the Spring sale, it should be around the third week of April.
I think the problem with buying the unit deals to get Bastion is that the Spring sale will have its own cash-for-unit deals that will actually get you webstore milestone rewards. At least, that's how it's been during the previous few sale events...

isn't this more evidence that spenders get very little in return? DNA has said it many times, that kabam structures money offers to give the minimum value possible.

I believe I recall him saying that as well. And hey, as a business, there's no denying that's smart.
This one seems like a clear miss though. Again, they'll make their money off it, but I'm confident they would have made a significantly greater amount with a more reasonable offer.
$500 is over the top expensive for the average player base, but is chump change for whales and those who have the money to blow.
But IMO, there are pros and cons of this offer. Pros: 1. It's a GUARANTEED 7* so you don't have to hope for one from the RNG gamble. Some players have spent more than $500 (15,000 units) on a champs featured crystal, and have gotten 0 7*'s.
2. For players who will buy units anyway, you'll get at minimum 10,450 units, plus Bastion as a bonus.
Cons: 1. $500 is simply too expensive for any single champ and no other resources.
2. This is a FOMO and "race to get the first Bastion" event for players who think he's a "must have". Expect to see him in AW and next season of BGs.
No in between rewards? Just drop 500 for just 7* bastion?
Kebem is onto something for sure.
Can anyone please explain what Bastion does that Kebem is so confident in selling him straight for 500 tag and nothing else.
Unfortunately I know a couple of people who spent close to that to get a 7* Zola and a 7* Jean Grey when their bundles were out; not only did they strike out on the crystals but there was no milestone pity 7* like there is with Bastion.
At the end of the day, some people just have a lot of money, so $500 for them even on what we may consider a bad deal isn't that important. It's not like all the casinos aren't filled with happy gamblers every Friday night. Everyone just has to make their own decisions based on their finances and desires...

They're banking off of hype and FOMO lol. He regens like crazy, deals extra damage when awakened, and is an Onslaught and Bullseye counter. We have yet ANOTHER one of those 😂

We can always make more money in the short term by selling more stuff or making a deal better. As I have said a number of times, short-term revenue is usually not our goal.
We have been experimenting with a bunch of different ways of releasing new champions, this being one of them. The target audience here is players who are willing to spend $500 on Bastion, but not willing to spend $500 on Bastion crystals with the chance of not getting him. Most players, including me, aren't part of that target audience. But there is no way for us to determine how big that audience is without these experiments.

So why not do same thing when count was released? Atleast there was tiers to get him if you spend.
This targets the bigger whales if anything.
No value ijn those $100 early access bundles imo
Only big whales like sayfasi from 4loki or whatever will spend that much and he didn’t get a 7* bastion. But he was willing to throw $500 to get him.

actual Value is more like 500 pesos. 😅

IMO if you are a spender, ima spender that spends on big deals but, I don’t think ima buy bastion. I’d rather wait for 4th july deals.
BUT I am pretty sure there will be another sale/unit bundles next month. Sprint cleaning I think?
But yea this offer for 7* bastion are for mega whales.
I don’t know who in the forums are big Spenders.
I do have over 100,000 units lol, where can I trade that for 7* bastion?

Very much like all those big whales spent to get r4 7* 2 months early LOL
You could say that about anything it just depends on timeline.
People spend ALOT of money on featured 6*
I know I opened crystals for cgr and pulled his 6*
And people went crazy for him and Hercules
