I've been around long enough to know any semblance of a boycott snuffed itself out when it got the attention of the game team. This is about the same as a child holding its breath until it turns blue. Being frustrated and communicating that is one thing. Thinking that withholding money is going to make things get fixed faster is another. They're not sitting on their hands waiting for cash. They're working on things. Whether that's something you believe or not, is up to you. However, when I see something inane being encouraged, I'm going to call it like it is. Sorry, not sorry.
I've been around long enough to see you crying over BGs matchmaking, coin on win/loss, moving up tiers, and point farmers. After it got fixed to your liking you stopped. Maybe Vega gets his way too
Don't forget when he cried about WoW Abs Man and when on a two page rant because it was too hard for him.
I won't but I am not an hypocrite. I was sympathetic to him back then because he was actually playing the game. You know he did necro, became Paragon and all. Now he is back to his old ways.
Kabam is more tolerant in this situation than I would be. You're indirectly encouraging boycotting and telling people they can spend if they choose. I get being frustrated. Passive aggressive threats aren't going to resolve issues any faster. This is a glorified tantrum.
What even is the less tolerant option? Banning us? Or just telling us to shut it? Even if you think people are being hysterical I can’t imagine either of those being seen as sensible choices.
Not promoting a boycott on the Fourm would be a start. People are free to air their frustrations within the rules of the Forum, but there was a time when anything to do with a boycott would be removed from here. I'm sorry, but the "I'm not saying you should but if you choose to...." malarkey isn't going to cut it with me.
First, technically Vega didn't post his video on the forum. He posted to YouTube and it was shared here by the O.P. of this thread.
Second, I don't think Vega used the term "boycott" in what's its generally accepted meaning is. He used it as more of a way to say he was no longer going to spend until significant changes are made. I watched the video and maybe missed something, but I don't recall him encouraging others to follow his lead.
Third, I personally don't feel that his decision to not spend was the thesis of the video. His touching upon the numerous things the folks at Kabam are or aren't addressing and/or the manner in which they are or aren't addressing them is spot on. His analogy of being on hold on the phone for 10 min that feels like an hour and wondering if you were forgotten about was 100% accurate. Bringing up the difference of "Are they testing?" vs "It was tested and we're ok with the results despite what's being said by prominent community members." is eye opening
I'm a nobody in this game. I'm not a prominent community member. I'm not a skilled or high end player. I've probably gotten to where I am by longevity more so than by accomplishment. My alliance tried nightmare raids. We are currently failing at nightmare raids. And ultimately will fail come this Monday afternoon. There's a lot of anger and frustration with the game mode, the bugs, the seeming lack of oversight on what are the world's most predictable pain points, and the responses by this game's forum mods who are either m.i.a. or show more apathy than empathy.
They're called nightmare raids and by the title alone they should be difficult. More so than regular raids. But difficult and almost impossible w/o the exact right champs/counters for the pages of nodes (never hear Purgatory talked about much but that was supposedly the correct play) shouldn't by synonymous and go hand in hand. I'm fine with difficult and challenging but when you take fun out of the equation... no thanks.

Except they're not even exiting, just being drama queens about it...
Players need Kabam to validate the time, money, and emotional energy they've poured into the game. They're not just players—they're people who've made this game part of their identity, their self-worth, their routine, their fake social circle. So when Kabam screws up, they don’t just get mad at a company—they feel personally betrayed, like a parent let them down.
That's why all these complaints sound so emotional. “Please listen to us.” “We just want to be heard.” “We used to have fun together.” It’s not consumer feedback—it’s the emotional language of neglected attachment. Kabam isn’t just a service provider anymore; it’s mommy and daddy.
And when someone says, “Why are you still living at home if you hate your parents?” They're the bad guy who needs to be insulted and drowned out.
What validation are you seeking calling everyone drama queens for being frustrated with the game they used to enjoy? Why do you feel compelled to spend a great deal amount of time here telling everyone to just leave quietly? Why don’t you just go enjoy the game you think is perfectly tuned quietly and quit posting here?
You don’t seem concerned about any effect people leaving will have on the game. And if that’s the case - why do you care if they sound off on concerns? Seems like the only thing that might happen differently is that Kabam starts moving faster on these issues - which you would necessarily benefit from. So it’s a win-win for you… unless you are chasing some other validation from Kabam employees to go along with it.

Make no mistake there are a number of things that can improve but these guys are both heroes and villains of the game to be honest ... the extreme content, the skewed economy ... the reason Kabam reacts these ways is because of these guys. Catering to the whale brigade is smart don't get me wrong but as you can see, when you try to please a small base of the community .. rage.
Kabam needs to focus on the WHOLE of the community. That's tough I know but it has to be a focus. We're not all going to be happy but you can't always try to make everyone happy and that therein is the problem. They're trying to please everyone on all levels.
Make a game that works #1. Make a game that works #2. Make a game that doesn't continue to confuse with all these overblown nodes and descriptions #3. Make characters that we love great again (original X-men) #4 etc.

You assume players are emotionally unstable or overly attached but you're completely ignoring the real issue which is people are voicing dissatisfaction with a product they invested in. That’s not “drama” or “neglected attachment" it’s consumer feedback.
Also, calling the community a “fake social circle” is just lazy, many online communities foster real friendships. Dismissing that because it happens in a game shows a strong misunderstanding of how modern social interaction works.
Players aren’t mad because Kabam is their “mommy and daddy” they’re mad because they've been paying for a service that’s now underdelivering, and they have every right to expect better and stop spending if they want to. Trying to frame that as emotional dependency isn’t clever, it’s deflection.

The way you talk you’d think that boycotting is some sort of crime or moral failing rather than ineffectual protesting at worst and an organized push for change at best.

You don't have a platform duh...
You're funny.
So it bothers you that someone with a voice speaks out? A member of the CCP? A content creator?...What would you have done? Kick him out of the CCP? If you watched the vid he actually questions if they will let him stay. He repeats constantly that this is his personal decision and his choice, and is not asking others to do so. Of course someone who strawmans everything and constantly does mental gymnastics to move goal posts would just clip parts of it and call it a boycott... Besides you and I know that every attempt to a "boycott" in the game has been unsuccessful. Why are you suddenly surprise that they are lenient to this one?
Love Vega as a creator and a dude. Appreciate his take on the situation and understand where he's coming from. Obviously this isn't a snap your fingers and its fixed situation, but this is definitely heard and we're passing it along to the team.
Oh so that's how it is? A content creators posts his gripes and it gets passed along expeditiously. Now you hear the community. So when people like lil ol me puts something in forums about the many issues in game then it gets ignored. Noted.

Dude the word is literally in the thumbnail.
You're 100% correct.
But again Vega didn't post the video on the forums here. The video was reposted/shared by someone else. So Vega isn't violating any forum rules (or maybe you can say he is by proxy, but he can't control where his video ends up).
And, again, I didn't hear the tone of his video as "I'm boycotting and everyone should follow me and do the same and we should take down Kabam all together!" Vega is stopping his spending on the game for the time being. Boycott was a poor choice of word.
I almost didn't click the video due to the big, red "BOYCOTT" on the thumbnail thinking "Oh boy here we go again. Let's try to start a movement that will go nowhere and accomplish nothing."
I'm just saying, in my opinion, that the main message wasn't the spending freeze.
Can someone explain to me why there is a difference between "I'm not going to spend any more money on this game until they address my complaints" and "I'm not going to play or discuss this game anymore until they address my complaints"? Do people just not value their own time as worth anything? Or are they addicted to the game and not spending money is the biggest leap they can take while still holding onto their addiction?
First you explain why you gotta pull this up 🛡️ everytime there's slight complain directed towards Kebem.

Watch the video
I did. Among other things, he said: "if you're not enjoying this, why not just stop?" Have you asked yourself that question? Is the answer: addiction?
Why do you have to take to the extreme of a psycho babble bs and call it an addiction? Its something people enjoyed for years, something people invested time, money, made friends in the process. Its not that easy to give up. Sure some people could be addicted; but in my case I did meet people I play with in real life and the last thing we did was play the game.

Because he whaled a lot and has a wide range of supporters. When he decided to F2P, many audience would follow his step. Sadly, we single player’s voice, like dust in the air, is always ignored until extreme issues happen.

I was more speaking to the sharing here. I don't care what someone posts on their own YouTube, that's up to them. However, I do think that having a platform means having a certain responsibility for what you put out, and I don't care for boycotts in general. My issue was presenting it on the Forum and saying "I'm not encouraging you to....". Well, it's still being shared. So yes, I'm calling it as it is.

So in your looney tunes world someone saying, "Don't just stop spending, stop playing altogether if you're unhappy" = Kabam shield? Let me check if I've received any gifts from Kabam for my "defense" of them... Nope, nothing. But I did just see the revive and potion bundle is back, which you were begging Kabam for. Congrats!

That's fair. And I agree about posting whatever wherever responsibly and on boycotts. It's a word used too much in the past 2 months outside of the game.
But a bit of positive... I did enjoy your choice and use of the word malarkey earlier. It's a word that should be used more often. Fun to hear, fun to say.

There's a lot of anger and frustration with the game mode, the bugs, the seeming lack of oversight on what are the world's most predictable pain points, and the response by this games forum mods who are either m.i.a. or show more apathy than empathy.
There called nightmare raids and by the title alone they should be difficult. More so than regular raids. But difficult and almost impossible w/o the exact right champs/counters for the pages of nodes (never hear Purgatory talked about much but that was supposedly the correct play) shouldn't by synonymous and go hand in hand. I'm fine with difficult and challenging but when you take fun out of the equation... no thanks.
Thanks. I'm probably coming off as surly, so I do apologize for that.
His touching upon the nunerous things the folks at Kabam are or aren't addressing and/or the manner in which they are or aren't addressing them is spot on. His analogy of being on hold on the phone for 10 min that feels like an hour and wondering if you were forgotten about was 100% accurate. Bringing up the difference "Are they testing?" vs "It was tested and they're ok with the results despite what's being said by prominent community members." is eye opening

You give an alternate point of view. Sometimes it aligns with mine. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I think you're spot on. Sometimes I think you're full of malarkey.🤣
But it'd be irresponsible on my part to not at least try to see an issue/subject from an opposing viewpoint and consider it. Not enough of that happening in the current climate outside the game so it makes sense to try to foster it within the game.
Congrats!
Wow revive bundle is back? That'll help me in Necro 10 year challenges and Epoch, Oh wait, it's too late and players have already done it all 100% 🤣
So now it's worthless. I wonder why Kebem can't release the bundle along the hard content they release? Do you know the answer?
A player raises reasonable issue Usual suspects make a extremely naive, half baked, annoying comment Triggers some of the forum members, who despite knowing the suspect's plan, takes the bait, everytime. Kabam mods will warn everyone to stay respectful (current stage) Still people will fight here Thread gets closed.

Because like everything else in life patience is rewarded and impatience is punished?? But hey, just be salty, that also works in life...

Sadly, we single player’s voice, like dust in the air, is always ignored until extreme issues happen.
But do what you want because right now man it just seems like they just don’t care and kabam is complete blind and out of touch with the game
ESPECIALLY after this seasons bg “update”
Its laughable at this point
Tell me, who can you really trust here? Who is really right? Can Kabam really be trustworthy?
My issue was presenting it on the Forum and saying "I'm not encouraging you to....". Well, it's still being shared. So yes, I'm calling it as it is.

But hey guys, revive bundles is back but now there's no hard content to do and I'm already overflowing 🤣
Should I buy this mistimed scam bundle?
