When I see antivenom in a quest, I get happy cuz he's a free health potion. I try to prolong the fight with as much as I can so I regen the most. He is only useful for that (And old HS).

I have ranked both and like both, but I reach for Wiccan everyday. I can recall the last time I didn’t have him in my AW attack because he’s so versatile. But honestly, there’s no wrong answer here.

I'd say to consider your roster before making a choice.

As everyone else has stated, Wiccan is a better overall champ, hands down. That said, there's a lot of great mystics out there.

If you already have a high ranking Kushala, Rintrah, Hood, Doom, etc., then maybe Wiccan isn't adding much to your roster.

Anti-Venom, while not amazing, does bring poison and incinerate immunity. There aren't too many champs with that combo. In fact, the only other two I can think of off the top of my head are Iceman and Peni-Parker. I know there's a few others, but that's what I got at the moment.

Also consider your roster in terms of champs who have easy access to stacking debuffs. I forget what the node is called, but there's one that pops up occasionally where you can't do any damage until a champ has three debuffs. He can be good for nodes like that too.

So yeah, Wiccan is better, no doubt. But there's a lot of champs that can do what Wiccan can do. I have a fairly deep roster, so this may not apply to you, but I can honestly say that the only two defenders I would take Wiccan against over other options (node dependent) would be Knull and Terrax.

I ranked mine up a few war seasons ago because he was gonna be good for it and the path I was taking, but forgot about him after that season. 😭

I like my anti-venom. When Venom was banned in wars I brought Anti-Venom mystic/spiderman champ defenders. Never ranked a wiccan.

This is very true, Groot, Drax, OG Cap, OG Black Widow and Rhino are meta champs that Kabam doesn't want to be release as a 7 Star cause they would break the game.

Whoa.. I understand Wiccan is more popular.. but let's not completely trash the guy now 😂 "Homeless Venom" as I affectionately refer to him is actually a great champ lol (especially paired with S99 of course) - I'd 100% be interested in a 7 star release

Well.. certainly during his War meta anyway (his use may or may not have declined since then for me:)
But that's what I like about Sagas.. they push us to rank and play champs we had overlooked previously.. and I had lots of fun playing them sometimes (Viv was another during her meta)

As someone who doesn't do any end game content I would still say Wiccan. My first 7 star r3 and I don't regret it....

I have him maxed 6* and ascended. Use him all the time. Is he amazing? No. But he is good, but he is not a defender or useful in BGs. But once you get some furies and debuffs going he hits hard. I have no regrets. But I have Wiccan ranked as well. But I never use him as I have Juggs.
