how cool would it be to bring a champ into the game that has a unique ability “shapeshifting “ that isn't in the game yet how long will kabam take to do this or can they simply not design his champ ?? I wonder about that

    Due to the complexity of a shape-shifting character in the game engine, no they can't "simply" design Mystique. Also since she can't copy powers, she would just be Domino without the luck powers.

    She can be done...

    The shape shifting may be on anim intro or ending.

    If possible, to the arch enemy of the rival, she is fighting.

    I understand Mystique’s a popular character but I really don’t understand what she would bring to the game. Her shapeshifting ability would be almost purely cosmetic and as far as I can tell her strongest combat power is that she has a gun.

    I definitely agree she should be added at some point, just not sure how they could make her unique or interesting.

    I remember Miike hinting something in the past that maybe they were already working on Mystique. I think she will be released on the same update they add Bases.

    She would be a Blackwindow with a gun. It's nice that she can shapeshift but she doesn't gain any powers while doing it. Not sure how useful this will make her in game. She can look like any champ but fights like BW with a big gun. I still think they need to bring in Morph since he can shapeshift and copy powers as well. He's not as well known so he's demand isn't as high as Mystique but he would be a better character to add.

    Actually I meant tthat I would like to see Protege. Now there aren't too many characters as powerful as this character out there.

    She could only shape shift into the Brotherhood mutants only. The same way Ares changes weapons, she could shift into one of them during animation or special attack. Like, special one se turns into Toad and use the tongue, special one she turns into Blob and use the belly attack. Something like that, not crazy just simple animations, as someone pointed out, she can't copy powers only appearance so theres not much to be done

    The problem with Mystique is the shapeshifting and to do it justice.

    When mole man came into the game, they had the design all new systems when it was him fighting and when it was Giganto Jr and a similar method was used when Peni Parker came in the game and another version of the tech came in when Strikers were added into the game.

    Size shifting in basic attack animations vs. special attack animations are still very different types of animations and that requires extensive figures to ensure that it looks good when the characters are fighting.

    Plus the other thing is most people don't really understand is how shapeshifting works and have a hard time wrapping their heads around that while Mystique can look like another character, she cannot copy their powers, so everyone who was expecting their 7 star Mystique to turn into Doom or Hercules and start dropping people left, right, and center would be sorely disappointed.

    I mean if you want Mystique in the game tomorrow, it could probably happen but it would most likely be just a reskinned version of OG Black Widow (like Jessica Jones v.1) with simplified mechanics and her shapeshifting being exclusive to like sp3. But if you want I'm going to stick that can actually do something besides look like Mystique, then this is the price of trying to have that.

    But it would be because does the character that she turns into fight like her or do the animations have to change to fight like the other character?

    And if the characters fighting someone of equal stature or smaller, they have to adjust so that way the animations look correct and then how long does it last and who does it form look like?

    These are all valid issues that have stopped Mystique from coming in the game because you can't just "Dash back, hold block and shapeshift into somebody else" and expect to have their full kit and abilities at your disposal.

    This isn't Mortal Kombat and she is not Shang Tsung.

    Since she doesn't copy powers at all, she won't be able to copy their full kit and abilities. She is a shapeshifter trained in the art of fighting and weapons and that's it. She doesn't have the ability to copy of champs powers and abilities. She would be BW with the ability to change her appearance. Not sure why so many people want her to do things she isn't capable of. She won't be that interesting in the game. Morph is what you want.
