I don't get why these posts get so much hate. Y'all act like this is academic plagiarism or steroid use or something. Yes, it violates the TOS, but this is highly specific to this game. I don't blame people for not necessarily knowing that it's not ok to pay someone to advance in the game for you. Isn't this literally how Elon Musk is the #1 Diablo player in the world?
So again, not saying he shouldn't be banned. But just explain it to him. Mocking him for not treating this game like a career or school or their life says more about the mockers than OP. In my opinion....
I do tend to have some sympathy for these people, up to a point. However, I knew it was wrong to pay someone to play a game for me when I was five. And when I was five the most sophisticated video game in existence was probably Pong.
Hello, I was banned and I don’t know why,I just bought an account upgrade
You were probably banned because whomever you paid to complete content for you used cheats to do it, these were detected, and Kabam banned the account as a consequence.
You should understand that this behavior is common to the point of being almost universal in online gaming. Two basic principles operate here. The first is that you and you alone are responsible for all activity that happens on your account. You are not allowed to share your account with anyone, and in part this is to enforce accountability and responsibility. If it happens on your account, you’re responsible and you’ll pay the penalty. It is never an excuse to say “I didn’t do it.” Everyone could use that excuse to get out of anything, because the game operator cannot tell who’s playing the game. So they always assume it is you, because you are never allowed to let anyone else play on your account. Doing so and getting caught is in and of itself a bannabl;e offense.
The second is that almost no game operator endorses or allows mercenary services, where someone pays someone else to do difficult things for them in a game. Most don’t even allow account sales where one person just buys an account off of another person. This trivializes the game content, and it also encourages behavior the game operator does not want to be a party to, namely converting game resources into real world cash. This always attracts unsavory people to a game that game operators would rather not have around.
Unless it is otherwise stated, you should always presume in all online games that:
1. You are not allowed to share your game account with anyone else 2. You are not allowed to pay someone else to do content, or buy resources outside of supported publisher-operated sources. 3. Violations of the rules can and often will be penalized by terminating your account, and those decisions will often be final and impossible to appeal. So it would be a good idea to learn the rules.
Contrary to what some people will tell you, this is not a Kabam thing. This is not some unusual MCOC thing. If you don’t learn to abide by the rules, and the rules aren’t all that complex, you will run into this problem again and again elsewhere. Eventually it will happen in a setting far more serious than an online video game.
U do know it was posted 25 hours ago on the 31st so not an april fools post
Love it when Americans think they are the only people in the world, time zones are a thing my friend
There are timezones with 25 hr difference?!
Actually, there are. The two time zone extremes are UTC-12 and UTC +14, which means the two farthest time zones apart are 26 hours apart. The reason for the existence of UTC+14 is that Kiribati (an island chain nation) used to be UTC-10 and UTC-11, but these are very close to the international date line. Once upon a time it was possible for people at UTC-11 to have to communicate with people in UTC+12 because those are geographically adjacent but those people would be living one calendar day apart which made things like weekends complicated for business activities, and so the time zone was changed to in effect make all of those people have different times on the same day, rather than be living in different days
In Japan, they do a similar thing with clocks. You’ll often see business signs that say a place is open from 1500 to 2600. This is seen as more straight forward than saying 1500 to 0200 the next day.

I love this ban posts. I need to follow this and see where the twists and turns end up. @Shel1111, what do you mean you "bought" an account upgrade? What message are you getting when you try to log in?
I paid a man to go through the story and special tasks
HA HA you just paid to have your account banned. Good job.

Is it ok if they do it free of charge? Pretty sure someone here carries people to zone 25 in incursions. What point do we draw the line on what’s cheating?

We draw the line at someone else logging into and playing on your account. It's a pretty clear line. Helping people with your own account to work through content that allows for team effort while they use their account isn't even close.

The entire point of Incursions is for people to do it together. There is no line to be considered. There has never been an issue there. It is completely different from what OP did

While I agree with you, the point I am trying to make is that people make mistakes sometimes willfully and sometimes out of ignorance. The speed with which OP volunteered that they paid someone either means it’s a troll post or that they didn’t know it was wrong. Just saying don’t be harsh on someone and make fun of them. Thats about it. Not advocating for ban reversal or to allow cheats or even advocating for them.

Mate, why are you trying to devil’s advocating for an admitted cheater? OP cheated. There’s literally no dispute of that fact. If OP had learned their lesson from their ban and toddled off to either make a new account or play a different game, then we aren’t having this conversation.
But that’s not what happened. OP did not learn their lesson, they in fact thought they did nothing wrong. Therefore, the lesson needed to be reinforced so that OP would understand that you cannot use merc services in this game.
I don’t know why you think you need to cover for them. Actions have consequences. And if you miss those lessons or refuse to learn them, then they will be taught again and again, likely in increasingly direct ways, until the offending behavior is rectified. We live in a society. That’s how it works.

I can't find an exact word to word of the situation , but I wager it comes under Fair Play and is under Kabam's discretion. I'm also sure that it is not in Kabam's interest that someone else makes money off of their game in an unintended way.

Incursion is such a murky water though, remember when they had that Legend title for 25 zones and some ahole cheaters decided to use burner accounts with mods to carry their main accounts...

In principle, I agree. But I feel that the strong reaction people have to such things is part of reason it isn't as widespread in this game like others. It was so common at some point in the game with all the piloting and mercing to the point where it was normal(Remember even famous YouTubers and CCP members did it?)

That'd be me. And I also expect certain things from them, and have booted them for not doing them.
Those certain things are following directions and replacing certain champs with other champs (is getting white mags ready so I can use his prefight on masochism nodes).

Thought he was getting a better account and was taken advantage of.
That sucks. Everyone here will help you with getting a new account up to where you want it.
They’re super helpful and don’t just make fun of mistakes.
