Testing Content by KABAM Before It's Released to the Public

First thanks to KABAM for the informative Dev Diary by KABAM PinWheel on the rampant bugs present in MCoC.Hopefully we all take the time to read it.

Is it possible to also 'throw back the curtain'' on the testing process that KABAM employs for both new content and/or bug fixes? Surely there is a relationship between the two that's worthy of discussing if nothing else.

With the sheer number of bugs, exploits, or whatever we're calling them on a continuing basis, it really fells like pre-release testing of content and champions is at a minimum or even non-existent.

Thoughts?

Kabam doesn’t know how to test even tho back in 12.0 kabam miike said they would guess that went with a pinch of salt

They test, but the problem is some issues come up after things go live, and there's no predicting that. As the Dev sit down explained, some issues are on the server, and some are in the build. It's not as easy as simply testing for everything. Then you have the issues that are device-related, and you can't have every device known to man ready to test the second things go live. Of course there's always room for improvement. It's just that you can't prevent every issue from happening.

First Im glad you enjoyed my write up! As for a followup on testing, can have a think about how we would present that but as @GroundedWisdom said a lot of it will be the fact that no matter what we test once its out with players on a plethora of devices that we don't have access to some things come up. Now there's some things that certainly aren't device specific issues, but very rarely is it the same thing twice. That's the fun of working on a game the size of ours, always something new to discover

But like I said, I'll have a think and see if there's a dev diary worth of material there. We have a rough framework for what we want the next few to be, so likely wouldn't be anytime soon, but its something we can think about!
