Is it wise to choose Silk or Photon from pickie selector if i have them as ascended r5 6* ??

I am wondering what to do in this scenario. On one hand i want more r2 and r3 to diversify my roster , but on the other hand a new 7 star OP champ is always welcome .

What do you guys suggest???

    Honestly, probably not if you are missing a different Meta 7* champ like Onslaught. I'd go for that first

    That's true . What i was thinking is that both Silk and Photon would need the dupe to be that OP and currently I can't gem either of them right away. RNG is a luck by chance.

    I would choose 4 new rank 3's over a single champ anyday, because we will get the said champ eventually in crystal

    6* mean sh*t nowadays, especially for bgs. Go with silk, she doesn't need dupe for damage, r3 her and wait for the dupe.

    If you want long-term viability in PvP modes, go for the killer champ from the selector.

    There are 130ish champs in the basic now. Odds aren’t zero, of course, but they aren’t good either.

    On the other hand, R3 mats will keep getting cheaper whereas the value of a great 7* champ will stay the same until 8s are a thing.
    Also, no guarantee to get any specific champ "eventually in crystal". I never pulled Herc until I was already Valiant for example...

    Usually yes, but there are a few champs who are better at 6R5A sig 200 than 7R3 unawakened.
    Silver Sable, for example.
    7R3 has about 23% more base Health and Attack.
    But at full ramp (10 shocks) the max sig 6 gets a higher attack rating than the 7.
    And the increased shock ability accuracy on intercepts makes her faster and more reliable too.
    So you have a faster more reliable champ who also deals more damage at max ramp than the unawakened 7R3.
    And the lower health pool doesn't matter because you shouldn't be getting hit with her anyway.

    BPCW might be another champ who's better as a sig 200 6R5A than an unawakened 7R3.

    Holy sh*t .... jackpot bruh.... I was saving my 9.1 exploration champ selector since last 3 weeks and finally thought of going for science just now and it was freakin worth it .

    Base stats aside, you also have to take challenger rating into account. That's what truly makes 6* obsolete for me imo. And that gap will keep growing with each new 7* rank.

    Yes, obviously, which is why the two examples I gave are just sui generis fun facts rather than an argument for 6s over 7s.
    So in a very specific context like a BG match TODAY, yes, give me a max 6 Sable or BPCW over their unduped 7R3 versions.
    But that doesn't mean I would pick the 6s over the 7s in like a selector crystal or something.

    Basically, 6s are mostly obsolete and it takes a real effort to find examples like the ones I gave.
    And even those examples have a very temporary short life.
    Once rank 4s and AGs and 7 sig stones become more easily available, then there will hardly be any usable 6s in high-tier PvP formats.

    People love saying “oh such and such champ is in the basic,” but it can take years before the basic finally spits out that champion if ever. I finally got a 6* Juggernaut two weeks ago. In the time since he was available, I opened hundreds if not thousands of crystals that had the potential to give him to me. Basic crystals, Nexus crystals, class, crystals, abyss nexus crystals, feature crystals and never saw hide nor hair of him. Rank up materials will all come to you over time. They will continue to depreciate month after month until they become completely trivial. I remember when you had to do a completion run of the abyss just to get ONE random T5CC. Yesterday I picked two T5CC for the exact class I wanted from the DSE. In my opinion if the game gives you an opportunity to get someone you really want take it.

    Like you said, just because a champ is in the basic pool, does NOT mean you will eventually get them.
    I can say this for dozens of champs whom I don't have till date.
