They showed the damage on a live stream. I doubt he gets rebalanced. They were very aware of what he could do. Plus he was voted on by the community.

It probably won't be rebalanced. If you mean the damage that *all* YouTubers showed when testing it with Professor X's broken synergy (when it got armor break from the rays, although he shouldn't receive them) and literally dealt illegal damage in the tens of millions of damage per minute, then this is a bug that will be fixed soon. Don't worry

If he is rebalanced, then it would be in the second group that is rebalanced this year which would likely be in December. We should know if he is getting a rebalance in 3-4 months.

I certainly hope not. Apart from the synergy issue with Professor X, which does need sorting, he's fine as he is and pretty fun to play now too. He's a high damage champion that requires a ramp up.

His damage is good but it has a lot of ramp up time and you do have to be careful any the opponents post before firing anything off, plus considering that outside of his true focus he doesn't really have a lot of utility going for him I think he's safe. He's not over powered, he's just a high damage kid utility character

To be fair that one video where he was doing a million per hit was due to a bug that they marked on trello board. He wasn’t supposed to get those armour break when he throws a special while using the prof x synergy.

His damage is still insane, but i don’t see it being too op to the point that that he would need a nerf.

In bg i can see some meta where he would be hard to use in. Kinda like hurt locker or that node that prevents you from using a special within 5 seconds of the last activated one.

I honestly can’t see this kit being tuned down — there’s other kits that can hit catastrophic DPS, like Deadpool X-Force. It’s on the high end, yes, but there’s just so many ways to counter the kit, I honestly don’t think it’s any concern.

Totally serious — if a kit doesn’t have immunities to DOT, doesn’t control power, doesn’t have immortality or insane healing to go with the catastrophic DPS…it just hits hard, like the source material.

But there are about 50 ways to keep the kit from affecting Everest/Story/Endgame content, so I just don’t see a nerf coming, honestly

I haven’t had time to put him through his paces yet - maybe this weekend. How do folks feel about him compared to DPX? Going to be constrained on my rank ups the next couple of months due to an influx of champs, so trying to decide which of those two I might take to R3.

I have them both, like them both. They feel similar in a lot of ways, especially the SP3 lock component for different uses.

To me, JMO:

1. Man, DPX can be ridiculous sometimes. It’s hard to put into words, actually describe it. I nuked a Photon once and I was like “HOW” 😅

2. Cyclops, to me, is more fun to actually PLAY. The synergies are more fun with some lore aspects, the animations are really smooth.

IDK. I would bet that the DPS on both is pretty close. Honestly, I think it just boils down to how you play

LOL You know what? That’s fair. That’s actually a fair criticism.

Let’s see. OK.

I think Cyclops is the better option to rank up, because getting the Precisions AND keeping them isn’t bad, especially since the kit doesn’t automatically run toward the opponent. You can intercept consistently because you know exactly where you are going to be at all times.

That, plus the Power Efficiency, makes it so the DPS is accessible in more ways — you can play Cyclops multiple ways, for how I process and understand the game, which makes it a better option.

To answer your question, @Oakenshield
In comparison, both have great damage which is most of their utility, I'd categorize both as just damage dealers. Cyclops has the miss and evade which is very useful for questing and end game content.

Xpool is going to be alot better in battlegrounds because his rotation is faster and is JUST ONE allowing him to play around nodes where you have a very small window to kill the opponent whereas cyclops needing 2 - 3 specials will struggle eg korg.
Most of the meta defenders do not require much utility to face as you really just have to play around their defensive mechanics which cyclops may struggle with in comparison to xpool. Xpool also does not have to wait for anything and can waste as much time baiting out defensive mechanics whereas cyclops will struggle cos of keeping that true focus up.
Xpool is the better battlegrounds champion.

However, you'd probably want a cyclops everywhere else over an xpool because he doesn’t have any relevant utility (except maybe the taunt). You will find yourself needing that true focus from cyclops in alot of questing content especially if kabam brings back EOP content.

Overall, I'd say if you can, rank up xpool cos he would actually be useful for your battlegrounds deck and keep your cyclops at r2 for now (until you have enough rank up resources to justify r3ing him in the future).
If you find yourself needing cyclops in questing, the rank 2 has enough damage to do it and since its questing, you do not need to be quick so you can perform the sp3 rotation and kill the opponent.

Thanks @ESF and @NONYABIZZ - both posts were really helpful. I like the Cyclops R2 and DPX R3 advice. R2 really is sufficient for a lot of questing content for the better rounded champ whereas the R3 on the BGs heavy champ obviously is important. Will probably go that route.

Not sure it was his favorite. He got inadvertently tied to him as a meme because he said he was very effective. What he meant was the data showed that those who used him were very effective with him. I presume they were looking at something like Crit data. In any case, because he was among the least popular at the time, they never let him live that down.

bru onslaught has miss counter, degens, daunted(willpower disability), wags prefight, and inverted controls on sp2, otherwise he is nothing. Cyclops prob does fights better in endgame content than onslaught. Plus onslaught's ramp can be easily lost if you use normal pause instead of extended pause, or AI doesn't play into you. Cyclops's precision's fall off one at a time, plus they all refresh after getting a new one. You get 5 with a special intercept, and get 1 for normal intercepts, and 3+ hit combos. that true focus and the ability to keep a ramp that easily is easily better than onslaught's versatility. Speaking from a guy who has used 6*r3 onslaught, for epoch, from act 4.6.6 till act 9.2.6. and still hasn't;t used the cyclops buff yet.

Note: if a summoner realizes how to play cyclops and uses a 4*r4 cyclops in 5.2.6, the collector is a joke(they could prob solo it first try, if they manage the collectors specials properly and get to the sp3 b4 the collectors ). Even the GOAT TRAPPY(may he rest in peace), raged against the collector of all people during his Speedrun. Plus he got PTSD from forgetting he could parry after the fight was over instead of just baiting specials.

No he's gonna stay Same as a paid for champ and voted for highly doubtful they'd want lashback and just don't make sense he's no worse than a serpent on def in beginning dazzler still better imo and she fine apart from prof x which def makes him broken he's fine.
