He isn't a trophy champ, he's an early access champion just like when players pull the new release champ from the early access bundles. This event was basically a giant version of those but with a guarantee at the end of the event if you spent enough units. You will get your chance to get him in a year when he enters the basic.

No OP won’t. Remember he is quitting and hopefully uninstalling in a couple of days. So just let him be.
    Thank you bro! 🙏

It was a fun read, see you in two months for July 4th deals 😀

You didn't read it then 😂 My account is going into an alliance by itself and you can check the account over time to see that you're wrong.

I realised I've spent on the double track and the 7* phoenix plumes, which I'm going to take as I've paid for them, but that's the extent to which I'll be waiting.

I'm waiting to get what I paid for - on principle. I'm leaving MCOC because 7* NF being in that crystal and the structure of it is wrong, I'm acting on principle and doing what I say.

It's interesting that you think you know me, inferring I'll be doing the opposite of what I've clearly stated. #gaslight
If I got a dime for every single time I've read one of these only for the person to come back during the next event, I'd be a millionaire lol
That's them, that's not me. Hopefully you understand we're different people.
Indeed, most people wouldn't throw a tantrum because they didn't pull a champ out of a crystal, that's literally what you signed up for when you downloaded the game.
There is truth to this statement.
I used units up to the 7* crystal milestone and got ibomb,…(not what i was looking for).
But it am not but hurt about it , i was just bored and wanted to try my luck.
Not too concerned about July 4th either,..i’ll see what i can scrape up before then lol.
Not a big deal,..and definitely not worth quitting the game over.
Exactly, and you pretty much got that one 7* for free almost, very low unit cost anyone could afford it. He should be glad he got a free 7* at such a low cost regardless of which one it was. I had my own issues with this event such as the paywall which forced me to blow out my money on it due to Dark Phoenix FOMO since she is a 4.5/5 defender unlike JJ and Weapon X who are very niche these days. RNG however is definitely not one of them.
Okay pushed higher and got 2 more needing NF, here's outcome:

The issue isn't "he just wanted 7* NF for free", the issue is - NF shouldn't be a trophy champ and we have to wait 1-2 years for him if we didn't manage to pull him here.

He should've gone into the Titan pool, he's too OP. On top of that there's no key and box system like at the last event (banquet), so it's even more of an issue.

I know it's more convenient for you to change what I've said what I don't like about the event to suit your narrative and disregard/minimise the issue I have with the decisions Kabam made for this event.
Yes it is and similarly, other people will have to wait two years to pull FAM which you now have at sig 40 conveniently. If they added Nick to the Titan this same year then the people who actually spent money on this are left feeling like they just threw it away in the trash because Kabam made the champ available for free only a couple months after the event, and believe it or not some people actually spend over 500 on this sort of thing. Of course they're going to prioritize the people who fund the game throwing away thousands every year over the rest.
So you're telling me how to think and reconstructing my grievance into one that you'd prefer it to be. Got it.

I don't want FAM, he's pales in comparison to NF. I'm not saying put NF into the Titan now, I'm saying he should've been in the Titan instead of a trophy champ here.

At this point I don't even know why I'm trying to correct your fabrication of what I've said, you're just intentionally being obtuse.
I'm not telling you how to think, I'm telling you why Kabam made the decisions they made.

They need to make money to keep the game alive, this is a perfect way to do it.
Besides, they're already adding Galan they can't just add a bunch of powerful champs to the Titan in one go cause that would absolutely ruin the game's economy if everyone has those champs it's not about making them trophies. Finally, how else would they make this event as interesting as Omega Days last year if they didn't use powerful champs? You think people would want to pay this much if the champs in it were Annihilus and some other mid champs? Maybe last year sure but at this point, the game has progressed way too much.

I'm not fabricating anything, you just don't seem to understand how Kabam makes money for some weird reason.
I understand how Kabam makes money, I've never said I don't understand it. I also don't like that they chose to put someone like NF into this trophy champ pool. Those two things can both be true and coexist. There is no singular truth that we all have to subscribe to and that's okay.

If you want me to prove I understand some business strategy I can do that, if that's what it will take for my opinion about disliking NF being in the pool and for it to be acknowledged as my own viewpoint..

    - Kabam made the webstore to reduce costs and increase profits for MCOC, by bypassing Google Play Store and Apple App Store charges. This likely improved cashflow at the same time with the revenue being generated immediately rather than waiting some days for Google/Apple to pay Kabam. The additional benefits in the webstore are are an enticement to move players over to the webstore and there is no marginal cost as it's a digital item, although it will create some inflationary pressure in the game, which is within tolerance. The points track for special events leans on sunk cost theory where people think they've spent so much already and they cannot just leave those points on the table, even though objectively pursuing higher milestones doesn't maximise their utility and results in ultimately a welfare loss for that economic agent. The free daily login is there to foster a behavioural habit of visiting the store on a regular basis so that the likelihood of remembering it exists, and completing a transaction outside of the app is higher. Again the free daily crystal is mildly inflationary, however with time the value of the daily crystal is eroded, which mitigates this issue (until the crystal is buffed)
    - The MCOC PC version is being released because the mobile version of the game may be reaching saturation on its product life cycle, despite the implementation of a number of previous extension strategies. Being on PC means the game can now aim to take market share on the PC gaming market, resulting in a growth in revenue for the game, and ultimately profits. Profitability is an important consideration, as are other factors such as market share and market growth. The stock price is directly linked to how much is paid out in dividends each year, if it's too low then the stock price will fall and make the likelihood of a hostile takeover increase. The benefit of entering the PC market is that MCOC already exists and needs comparatively less work to port it to that platform, and I'd assume the Marvel IP is a fixed cost, which means it can be spread across a larger number of players to reduce average fixed costs.
You can dislike it, but it was a smart decision regardless and they probably made a lot of money out of it. If you're really that worried about missing out then again, spend money and get the selector it's not like the option isn't already there you can even awaken him if you really want to have him. Otherwise, save your units like other people did and wait until the next opportunity I'm sure next year we will get crazy champs as well and eventually he will go to the basic pool. Threatening with leaving the game and throwing a fit isn't really going to do anything and they are going to keep milking events this way whether you like it or not because it's gacha game, this is what you signed up for when you installed it.
Super passive aggressive tone. I'm sorry you have such contempt for people that have a different perspective. As I said before there is no one singular truth - it MAY be a smart decision, it may NOT be a smart decision, nobody can definitively say. I'm not going to do what you tell me to, I can be worried about not getting 7* NF due to how the event was structured AND refuse to do what you tell me to with buying all the milestones. I can discontinue playing the game, it's my choice and I will do what I feel is appropriate.

I didn't sign up for 7* NF being a trophy champ when I installed the game. I installed it wanting something FUN to do in my spare time. You continue to tell me what I do and do not think, what I should do, what I shouldn't do.

You seem to have a real hard time allowing people to have independence and want to control the situation and narrative so that it fits nicely in a box. That's not reality my friend.
I can guarantee you it was a smart decision from a business perspective and they made a lot of money out of it, you may not like it but it is what it is. I didn't like the fact that Dark Phoenix was paywalled but guess what? I ended up spending because of fomo, it was a smart decision even if I didn't like it, I spent money and they made money.

You can leave the game and not do what I suggested but it only makes this whole thread look even more satirical. You're complaining that you couldn't pull Nick because of RNG but when given the option to spend to get him you don't want to do it either lol Kabam is giving you the option to get the champ that you want with that selector and you even get an awakening gem too, problem is you want it for free or with minimal spending. If that's the route you're taking then unfortunately it's a matter of luck, always has been and always will be, it's a gacha game.

Nick Fury is not a trophy champ, this is basically just early access. Dark Phoenix is a trophy champ, Nick is not and eventually he will be available everywhere.

As for the independence part, you can do whatever you want with your account lol I'm simply pointing out how ridiculous it is to be this mad complaining that you're missing out while at the same time refusing to spend when spending can in fact guarantee you one awakened Nick Fury.
You can't guarantee it was a smart decision. Look at the July 4th where they sold off loads of R5 6*s. According to you it was a smart decision with your binary yes/no mindset. But actually they damaged the game and it was a bad decision. Are you starting to understand a little better now? It's not just about $$$ there's other factors at play (which you're consistently blind to apparently)

Yep - I'm the problem here because I don't want to spend an additional $300 to guarantee NF. I'm so stupid that I'm causing this problem by not continuing to spend for him. Literally I should be mad at myself right? This post should be retitled "I'm going to quit MCOC because I won't fix a problem I've created" Nothing to do with Kabam, this is all my fault, I should've known better. I should've taken time off work to grind arena for days on end, I should've prepared better - it's all my fault.

You're totally right - it's just early access, no problem at all here. So what if it's a couple of years, does it really matter? I'll eventually be able to get him in 2027 and that's really not that far away when you think about it compared to the history of the earth. There's no problem here, it was just my perspective. I'm really grateful you've helped me to think correctly about this issue Mr. Clobberin' Time, I was struggling before feeling bad about the event and the decision to include NF, but now I'm fine with it. Actually you know what - this event is amazing, you get so much cool stuff, they've outdone themselves this time 💪

Thanks for your permission to have independence, but I don't think I'll need it. I was being ridiculous before. Imagine being unhappy and I could fix it with $300 but I CHOSE not to? I was so stupid, haha. Thanks again friend.

You are absolutely unhinged, get well soon bud. Quitting the game definitely serves you well lol.
Not unhinged you're just chatting absolute garbage. 🗑️
You went on a full rant because I suggested you spend if you want him this bad, definitely unhinged.
Yep, whatever you say is correct. Go touch some grass, you kinda need it.
Ironic coming from someone having a mental breakdown over a gacha game.
I'm having a mental breakdown about how you've got room temperature IQ TBH. We're like 100 comments deep on the thread and you STILL have no idea what issue I had with the event, which was post #1.

You're just some troll that wants to get people frustrated that you cannot understand their perspective.

I'm sure I'm not the only person that has given you this feedback.

I had a previous post where i got super lucky getting to only 100points and pulling FAM, Fury, Apoc , Tigra and then duping FAM and Apoc.
I should have taken the W and called it a day but decided to gamble ( to dupe Fury or Tigra) and the next 100pts got me 0 7*'s and duped FAM , Apoc again from the 2 HOF crystals.
Gotta take the bad with the good!

Well, yeah.

Don't remember how many Valiant HOF crystals I opened (up to point 80), but the only 7 star I got was Apoc (my least wanted). Took it, cuz why not, it was for free, non-grided ~4k Units (the ones that pile up passively, I barely touch Arenas).

Temptation kicked in, and I now wanted to try my already terrible luck. Spent money for the first time ever (I'm FTP btw), thinking to hit 100 points and get one guaranteed HOF champion. Of course, since there was an 80% chance of not getting apoc.

    And y'all guessed it.

So, while it's impossible for me to quit the game (I've tried countless times), the best I always do and am doing again is to take a break until the frustration ends. Could be a few months, weeks, or even days, I don't know.

Sidenote to Kabam: Tremendous job getting someone like me to spend. Been playing for 6–7 years, and I never lose self-control, but this time, the hype was unreal. I'm also a game designer so I know FTP players don't matter as much.

But hey, I’m not FTP anymore.

    Cheers.

You guys should watch professionals play poker on youtube and watch them bet hundreds of thousands USD, thinking that they have a high chance of winning, imagine you have 2 aces and 1 ace is on the table, you have 3 of a kind and you go all in but the other player has full house and win all the money

Mcoc is small money if you spend on the game
  • JESUSCHRISTJESUSCHRIST Member Posts: 1,585 ★★★★
No matter how bad the RNG is sometimes in the game, it's really small stakes here

If you feel like quitting the game bcos of the RNG, it's fine, just don't think that the game involves very big stakes, it's just a 7* champion

Wondering whether to even bother trying to clean up some of this thread or not.

Anyways, sure hope nobody has their forums quote level setting set to “never consolidate”, I think it has reached its limit (although the image just feels ironically appropriate)

Are you crying because they released a 7* version of Nick Fury that you didn't get while gambling your credit without going through the milestone until you hit the guarantee?? It's the same level as people complaining because they got Ibom (which is very good)while using 6k credit and crying saying the game is bad you gambled you lost now you know you shouldn't expect something if you have no guarantee (like you'd know 1 week after playing the game)

What makes it so funny is he pulled FAM which is easily the second best champ in there...but no he says Kabam told him to go f himself lmfao he's basically mad that he didn't pull what he wanted as if this game ever actually gives you what you want just because you want it.

No, because I don't value singular champions enough to see dumping resources chasing them as worthwhile, especially if their value (imo) is locked behind high sig or awakenings. I'd rather invest those resources into obtaining rank resources so I can max out who I have. But thats just my approach to the game.

This is one thing I've never understood. Wouldn't you, as a game designer, want to be paid for your work? I don't get why people are so proud to be ftp for ~7 years, especially if you work in that industry and know how hard it is.

After this event, never spending any cent on this game anymore ! I will become a FTP player or will quit this game !

Duped 4 times on Nick fury with milestones 7 stars cystals
    36.9k Crystal, only 2 7 stars.

    What dissapointed !!!

Totally fair question, and yes, I do believe game devs absolutely deserve to be paid for their work. I’ve worked on enough projects to know how much blood, sweat, and coffee go into building and maintaining a live game, especially one at this scale.

My pride in being FTP isn’t about not supporting devs, it’s more about the personal challenge, the grind, the self-control aspect, and honestly, the satisfaction of progressing without ever swiping. For me, it became part of the experience, kind of like playing on hard mode.

The frustration part? That came from the crystal RNG. I mean, how many times do we pull 6-stars from Mythic crystals or 7-stars from Exalted ones? Not often. So when I finally spend and still land the one thing I had a 20% chance of getting—while skipping over the 80% chance of something better—it stings. I think that would frustrate any normal person.

That said, I have nothing against spending. In fact, I’ve always believed in supporting devs when a game delivers consistent value or emotional engagement. And clearly this time, Kabam nailed the hype... so I ended up spending for the first time.

So no hate toward monetization at all. It’s more of a shift from being a passive enjoyer to an active supporter. Just happened a bit later than usual, I guess.

I wouldn't complain if I got a Fam and this guy is saying the game insulted him because he didn't got what he wants which happens almost every time you open a crystal.

So you're saying I should probably join a better alliance and practice BGs more? Did I get that right?

Nope I'm just saying complaining because you didn't get the champ you wanted is stupid since it's a gacha game and even more since you also got Fam you took the gamble you "lost" take the L and move forward.

Wait - so you're actually saying there's just a problem with the champs synergy? Like it's too OP and that's why you're concerned? Or is it that the champ PI is too high? I feel like that's probably your main argument.
