Yeah it sounds like its for those that managed to play within 20 minutes of BG's launching for the season, sucks to have all that comp dangled like a carrot now and here I was a sucker sleeping due to the time zone here in Australia.

It's for everyone, depending on your placement last season. You get two packages if you ended in GC, but only 1 for VT

I was in Gamma with literally 1 Rating, So I guess if they send the compensation, its 2 packages

If I read the release correctly, everyone who made it into GC (Uru and higher) gets both packages, regardless of whether or not you were affected adversely by the season start placement.

If you didn’t make it to Uru or higher, you only get the VT package—again, regardless of whether or not you were adversely affected by the season start placement.

Tl;dr: In order to apologize for putting players at the doorstep of GC (Vibranium 1/2) instead of much lower where they were supposed to be placed, they decided to give those same players and everyone else some stuff at some undisclosed date.
