This does seem like a good option. Give everyone that finished GC last season the week 1 Radiance rewards at least. That would be a help. You’d have to leave the week 1 objective too though because some people already made it and got it so there’d be an extra 10k radiance available this season which doesn’t seem game breaking.

I can’t think of an easy way to fix the advantage of getting to GC so much earlier. That’s just a mess.

I won 5/6 of my games. 1 game in GC due to error kicking me out of my match, i did start in vibranium 2, won 4 games in a row at the start and now i’m in GC 👍

The comp after five matches was everything up to Vibraniun 2 for those that started there. And I definitely fought some very weak accounts.

Diamond 4 starters got everything from lowest tier through Diamond 4 after five matches.

At the risk of piling on - I think this is important feedback.

I finally said "whatevs" and jumped into D4. I am valiant with a respectable roster but after fighting 6 stronger valiant R4 teams just to reach D3 last evening - this is just even more disappointing. This is not a zero cost "no harm no foul" issue. Last season I leveraged resources and units to buy insurance on various breakpoint matches to break into GC. Now I have to do it all over again.

Yes I won 4 of 6 matches (I think). But it is such a grind. To suffer through this "waiting simulator" again is maddening.

There are teams that have no business being in D4 in D4. There are teams in V2 that have no business in V2 (or GC). It's an absolute mess - compounded by the fact that it's a competitive mode with the top tier of rewards that I won't get because of time limits.

Kabam should shut this mode down and restart it. Start everyone again based on where they landed last season and offer respectable compensation. I'm sorry but that is the right thing to do. I think the "knock on consequences" are that people will get double rewards. So what - do the right thing.

Love the game but I'm really getting tired of this laziness. It's like when I have to fight Enchantress - I'm like "really game team - leaving her as is? That makes sense." Just lazy and unbalanced game design and implementation choices.

I think what many people in this thread are misunderstanding is that everyone who made it to the GC last season was supposed to start in Diamond 4. There are so many people posting about how much of a slog it is to get to GC from Diamond 4, but that was always what was expected. Last season there was an error causing everyone to start in Vibranium 2. This season it was partially fixed; but the error was not putting people into Diamond 4, the error was having some people start at Vibranium 2 again.

I do agree with the consensus that those who get to start at V2 should not be receiving the same compensation package as those who start at D4. There is a huge advantage given to those who start at V2 and a blanket compensation for everyone makes no sense. What are the V2 starters being compensated for? For getting on advantage over everyone else?

It really doesn't matter to me at least. Last season I had to use Elder Marks in GC because of the Solo event. Starting in Diamond 4 and no solo event makes it the basically the same, specially since they extended the Radiance objective.
This is one of those bugs that really doesn't bother me... Lots of small accounts to make my 48 hr objectives pretty easily on upper tiers. If anything this made it worse for smaller account BG experience.

So what part of DOESN'T BOTHER ME, is the part that you didn't get? Am I talking for the majority or just for me?...
Its just a few more matches against accounts that barely have 7R3s, I will have to play 10 more matches at most. I just choose to complain over bigger issues.

It makes zero sense to offer a relief package to players who have a significant advantage over others. Lazy on the front end, lazy with the relief…

Crashed says his objective is to make sure this doesn’t happen next season, but this is back to back seasons with a botched start. “Knock on effects” begins to sound to me like an excuse for lacking manpower, expertise, willpower or some combination thereof.

As for players starting in Diamond 4, if I had my way I would spread GC players across Diamond or even into the low Vib ranks. Pushing to finish higher in GC should count for more than it does.

If nothing else, I hope this makes people more aware of the slogginess of starting at the bottom of Diamond. Not hard so far, but it just makes a grindy mode feel even grindier.
