I don't want to argue too much with you, I just want to explain the simplest issue. Kabam acquiesced to the so-called illegal download of the client, which has been running for several years, and suddenly banned all of them today, and he also took the money. Is this reasonable? Shouldn't he at least notify the players first and tell them to change the download channel in time? Is it a mature game company's thing to ban directly?
They actively play the game and occasionally go to the official forums to give their opinions or participate in discussions. I think that after so much time has passed, if Kabam has to drive away those who download the game through unofficial channels, at the very least, they should give them a warning and give them enough time to find a way to change the download channel, or simply give up.</blockquoteacoAccording to kabam they did give a warning in a 7 days ban. Accounts who got longer bans had previous strikes. So how long was your ban?
You are just a pawn defending Kabam. Normal people have a sincere heart. They have played this game with their friends for several years and even spent a lot of money. To ban them without even getting a clear warning in advance is, in my opinion, an extremely irresponsible behavior.

Obviously this announcement is about units, isn't it?
So, before Kabam adopted this new technology, these accounts were compliant, but after it was adopted, they became illegal? no, they were never compliant, they're just enforcing their rules. as far as i know, and i'm 99.9999% sure, using modified software has always been against the TOS. i totally get your frustration and even if you didn't gain any competitive advantage, they're clamping down hard on the cheating ecosystem. Why don't they seriously catch those who actually violate the rules in BG mode, but suddenly ban a lot of innocent people who have never used cheating software? BG is actually really tame right now today. And not a modder in sight (Diamond 3 to GC, 104 points, just today). So it does seem like the ban worked as the app was probably sideloaded and modified for the BG cheaters. But it accidentally killed many players who played games in a law-abiding manner. Using an app that was illegally obtained in the first place!! After such a long time, they suddenly use a ban to notify customers who have paid, saying that the client you downloaded is illegal and in violation of regulations? Not even prior notice?Who taught him to do this? What are you on about? It's never been ok to download the game via other methods than the authorized ones. And they have periodically sent out in game mails saying so for years. So there always been a warning they only just now have the tech to identify it easily. Since they have long considered these to be illegal, how should they deal with the money spent? Can Kabam collect money from illegal sources?

Think of it this way - shopping at Costco is technically only available to members. Some people aren’t members but borrow a membership from someone they know to go buy stuff. Some non-members may sneak in to just get a cheap hot dog at the food court.Once Costco is able to better detect who is and isn’t a member, they can choose to “ban” non-members from buying more stuff until they become a real member. There is no reason that Costco needs to refund money for past purchases. The money itself was not illegal, and the non-member obtained goods for their money at that time that.
Why?Now, these accounts have grown into several 7R3, and even a few 7R4. Why is Kabam just banning them now? You didn't read the announcement on ban wave, did you? Read that and you will get your answers. When you are banned without any warning or reason, let's see how you feel. That isn't even part of this discussion. You asked in your post, "why didn't they ban people earlier if downloading from unofficial channel is illegal" and I told you that they answered this exact question in their announcement. But looks like reading isn't your forte. So I will just help you out.Kabam introduced a new anti cheat system recently and that system helps them to identify those account who weren't using their official apps. They didn't know this earlier, that's why they are banning those accounts now and not earlier.

Having read quite a lot of these threads over the weekend it seems the common issue is that those using 3rd party versions don't understand the bottom line: You've never been allowed to do this, Kabam has always been clear that you must download the app from their partners (Google play and apple store originally) and to not do so is a breach of ToS. Anyone stating they are a "veteran long term player of 10 years with thousands invested" or similar, yet they were not aware that their side loaded/apk/modded/custom app was not approved and within ToS is, frankly, either lying or a bit dim.If you cannot download the game from an approved source you cant play it. It really is that simple. If you can, but chose not to for whatever reason then do so, now. Once your ban is up you will be able to play again. I appreciate amongst all this there appears to be people playing on approved versions who got hit, if thats the case hopefully Kabam will revert it.Anyone not playing on an approved version... see above.

In this wave of bans, many people also downloaded games from the App Store and Google Store. How to explain this?
I think logical reasoning is not your strong point. Since Kabam has previously allowed those who downloaded the game from unofficial channels to play the game normally, and they happily accepted their payment, now that a new technology has suddenly emerged, you deny that these people are customers? What part of Announcement you don't understand. I will try to put it if I was talking to a child so you may understand.-Before: No one was banned before because they didn't have technology to detect where the game was downloaded from.-Now: They have a technology to detect where the game was downloaded from.-Before and Now: Never it was allowed to download game from unofficial source, not before not now.-Conclusion: You were not banned before because they couldn't detect, now they can so you are banned and should have been banned day 1 if they could detect it before.Stop with your ridiculous arguments. If a shop security didn't have a technology to trace Thiefs doesn't mean theft is allowed.

Im playing for 10yrs never cheated always installed official game, and i get banned for no reason. This new tool is BROKEN!
This isn’t me. I’m not the one making these rules.I’m saying this is how it works. If you installed the game from somewhere other than an approved vendor, you are banned.Again, this should not affect your account.Just uninstall the game and reinstall it from an approved vendor. How about you find an account that has been banned this time, try to log in on your device and see if you can log in?
