Hear me out…

So before I get absolutely flamed by forums I JSUT wanna point out, I’m just sharing my opinion. But hear me out. If Kabam got rid of nodes in story mode, and gave the bot a huge Health and attack upgrade to compensate the for the loss of nodes the game would honestly be more fun. It would feel more like an actual fighting game than whatever this cash-grabbing, soul sucking, grinding abyss we have now is, we could actually fight without having to worry about a degeneration that kills you in 3 seconds every 7 seconds, the fights would be longer, and costly if you let your gaurd down, but it’s honestly better than whatever these nodes are. Take notes Kabam, Monky out.

Story is the most consistent thing in this game that isn't "cash-grabbing, soul sucking, grinding". If they took nodes out the game would be infinitely more boring.
It forces strategy, using a variety of champions, and brings a legitimate challenge. There's literally nothing challenging about big health pools and high attack values. If you don't want a challenge, stick to Hi-Ho Cherry-O.

Yeah you right about that, I maybe overlooked that but still, it’s only for story mode, all the other modes can have whatever annoying modes they want. Prolly didn’t make that clear in the post so mb. But that is a good point

So the Story mode should just be the same exact fights over and over and over and over and over again? Where's the fun in that? If I wanted that, I could just grind arena endlessly or run ROL over and over again.

It's kinda like the Cosmic and Skill defenders side quest. Just large health pools. Is that what you're were thinking?

For all the challenges that the game has right now, both real and just perceived, I think story mode is the least of them by a country mile. That's just my opinion though.

The nodes are what make the game versatile and add strategy/planning to the game. I think this is how it differs from a fighting game like mortal kombat. It's an important part of the game and I think a milestone of the summoner's progression - where you go beyond parry mllm, into varying play styles and tactics.

You only see these defenders in modes such as AW and battlegrounds

Nobody gives Kabam the credit for doing so

I remember when the game first came out, i was doing act 1-4 and just quick because it was extremely boring just tapping the screen mindlessly. Nodes are what makes the game fun and challenging. They’re why you get excited to use certain champs. When you play a node right and see a big damage boost, it feels amazing to play.

The game was never designed as a traditional fighter game, the game is it’s own genre of a fighting game and doesn’t need to conform to other fighting games.

Also now a days, story mode has some of the easiest nodes, act 9 has felt a little sluggish, but in general it’s decent.

No thanks it make a game more boring then it already is for story mode act 6 tech me how much I miss challenge aspect now nothing challenge for story mode it just do it.

that’s because they get so much other stuff wrong no one has time to give them credit for anything. Something is always bugged or there is always a horrible design because they don’t work endlessly to bring the best game possible like they say they do otherwise this stuff wouldn’t happen.

Would be nice to have actual skill based content for once. No revives, no boosts, intercept nodes, prompts, no champion restrictions. I already know that none of the NPCs who hate your idea will be able to complete it though 😜.
