Do you like the new Deep Dive Format?

I was just checking out the new deep dive for Solvarch and I noticed they changed the format of the deep dive. I don’t know if they plan on continuing to do future deep dives like this, but I honestly don’t really like the change and found it a bit harder to understand. Let me know what you think.

Looks like they tried to explain the mechanics/rotation in the beginning with abilities and than showing the mechanics/rotation.

Deep dive was same as above confusing statement.

It wasn’t awful in my opinion. It was harder to understand for sure and I appreciate them attempting to try and explain it in a different way for us but I don’t think it helped much

I think I preferred the old one because you understood the abilities first and then the rotation was shown to demonstrate how the abilities come together. You had more context into how the champ worked once you were watching the rotation.

With this new style you kinda learn the rotation and abilities at the same time. I don’t think that’s an issue per se but personally I prefer having the context of abilities first and then going into how they fit together in the rotation of the champion.

Honestly though, Karate Mike did a great job. He always does a great job at the Deep Dives. Absolutely nothing but love for that man. I’m not trying to criticise, just giving my thoughts.

I also really enjoy DLL’s spotlight with context videos, and Simula’s champion guides. Both are very informative and useful. I’d recommend them if you want to learn a champ in addition to the deep dives.

One half yes the other no, I liked how they showcased multiple rotations, if I'm not interested in watching all of them I can just watch one. I also liked how they explained why and how he's a decent defender.

What I didn't like was the beginning, I prefer Mike reading all the abilities one by one, less confusing and easier to understand.

I think they should keep the abilities part as it was and then just add the extra rotations and defense explanation afterwards, basically 50/50

I didn't hate the new one, but I definitely prefer the old one. This one was much more confusing, and I feel like I still don't really understand Solvarch as well as I would with the previous format

    I second this

Don't watch them and when they show them on the Livestream I Either Mute or don't pay attention to them.

I do prefer seeing the abilities on screen while Mike talks rather than just straight-up gameplay all the time. There's just something about being able to read along and get context for what you see when you look at the champ yourself that really works for me and my brain. If there's something I don't immediately grasp, I can always just pause the video for a moment and read what's said on screen to try and suss out what he meant by what he said. That's a lot easier than having to go back and rewatch that part of whoever's kit he's talking about.

That being said, DLL's videos on each new champ pretty much serve that very purpose, so if Kabam has a solid reason for moving on to the current format, I have no real problem with them doing that.

Its hard to say I like this one better but it still can be improved, imo in the abillities part meaning not to target the main gameplay mechanics but to scroll over the kit fast in the first 2 mins like Mike did on his own channel just faster but the editing is still great

I don't think it worked for solvarch, but it did feel better with the Cassandra one for whatever reason. Maybe in just over the initial shock haha

It wasn't awful, but I do like the previous style better for understanding how a champ works.

The new one has its merits. I love the extra rotations he goes through. I think it could benefit from a combination of both ways though. All in all I did think it was an improvement. Ultimately I'm gonna figure out the basics of a champ once I get my hands on them, not necessarily from the deep dive, so I appreciate the effort of showing me some different rotations to try out.
