What Cassandra Nova's new synergy hints at

As is clear from the meaning, we are dealing with "dark doubles". What are your options? The first ones that came to my mind were Daken (although he can be viewed in different ways), Madeline Pryor (vs. Jean Grey) and maybe Iron Monger (vs Iron Man)... But for some reason I want to believe more that it is Madeline Pryor. In fact, there are quite a few such champions, but I think we can come to the right answer.

    Is Dark beast fitting this synergy? Cuz a few months ago there were strong theories about him

    Uhm, let me think.
    We should consider that Void and Sentry are (in short and without writing an essay about Sentry vol.1 and 2) the two opposite sides of the same person: Bob Reynolds.
    Maestro, similarly, is an evil counterpart/personality of Bruce Banner from a possible future.
    Cassandra Nova, despite having her own identity, is the twin of Charles Xavier, and they are genetically identical.
    So, in my opinion, we should look for a character which is an alternative/future and evil version of a character already in the game: not a legacy character or a different character.
    This pretty much rule out Daken (he was a "Dark" counterpart of his father for a while, but that's pretty much it) and Iron Monger (Obadiah Stane isn't exactly an evil version of Stark).
    On the other hand, your theory about Madelyn Pryor could probably be a good guess, being her a clone of Jean Grey (a character already in the game) who eventually turns evil.
    If I had to name other possibilities, I'd say Dark Beast from the Age of Apocalypse timeline or the "Malice" personality of Susan Storm.
    If they weren't already in the game, The Maker and Superior Iron Man could be eligible for this synergy as well.

    I mean, he was kind of the Beast in the March event quest and it's possible. But you know, it would look like "he was put in a cryo-capsule from which it is impossible to escape and he got out of it, appearing in a new guise", so in terms of the plot it will look a little out of place in my understanding

    I think Madelyn Pryor makes a lot of sense, but I also really hope it isn't her. Considering that we've gotten both Jean Grey and Dark Phoenix as well as an OG Phoenix buff lately, I would really like to see someone else than a Jean Grey-related champion. While I'm very happy about all of those champs entering the game (except maybe Dark Phoenix, who doesn't affect my roster at all but does suck on defense more times than I anticipated she would), I'm perfectly happy with moving on to other champions now.

    A Dark Beast would be dope.

    I think there's a lot of options. If we're too assume it's a dark version of a character we already have in game there's options like hydra supreme, black winter, dark beast, magus, Goblin queen, maybe an evil strange of some sort etc etc

    Though If I'm going real long shot thinking and assuming a lot of things that probably aren't true, let's assume that Dracula is coming in October and this champion is coming with them. They wouldn't do 2 mystics which rules out a lot of characters, and knowing that we're getting a vampire and/ or a dark version of an existing hero (whether they're the same character or not) i think this does give more room for bloodstorm being a possible option. She'd be a mutant to go along with Draculas mystic, is a dark version of a character we have in game, fits the vibe of October etc etc.

    I do think it's a longshot and assumes a lot of unconfirmed things, but I'm throwing it out there on the off chance that is true lmao.

    My god if we got an AoA month that was Dark Beast and Blink, I think that's about the only thing that would make me *more* excited than Madeline Pryor.

    I like your options, but for now I think I'll stick with candidates like Dark Beast, Madeline Pryor, and Chasm. I think it's worth waiting for the next roadmap, but it's possible that this champion could be for 2026

    I really don't think she'll be a champion this year or the next. Maybe you're right, but as practice shows, in mystery synergies in most cases there were more obvious options.

    I really don't think she'll be a champion this year or the next. Maybe you're right, but as practice shows, in mystery synergies in most cases there were more obvious options.
    At least in the last few years, the most non-obvious mystery synergy has been Vox's synergy with Morbius. I thought Count Nefaria's synergy was not obvious, but Jean Grey's synergy theme was actually the most obvious.

    I would prefer she's Mystic class over Mutant and it makes more sense. Would be really cool to have a Mutant Jean, a Cosmic Jean, and a Mystic "Jean"

    You're right, I don't think bloodstorm is anywhere close to being the most likely, I'm just setting up my stall very hesitantly on the off-chance haha. I think dark beast or Goblin queen are probably the most likely

    What about the evil Archangel (that I think was with Dark Beast) where Archangel actually became the next Apocalypse and had his own horsemen.

    So I believe that Cassandra’s bio which reads “ “Now wielding psionic power that MIRRORS the mighty Professor X” tells us about the synergy which may be related to SUPERPOWERS that mirror your foil. It’s also specifically tied to villains which may even tell us that the champion is coming in October. Cassandra Nova and Maestro are also not counterparts in the way that void is (Unless I’m wrong to say that Maestro is a multiverse variant and not a personality alter). In other words the term mirror does not mean “Clone” or “Dual identity”. Madeline Prior would be cool but I think this even more hints about Dracula coming to the game and literally being the first “Real Vampire” the biography or rather the lore for MCOC Dracula will answer a lot of questions in general. They can take him anywhere they want to fit this “Dark mirror” narrative since he’s an archetypal folk legend.

    2 of my most wanted characters, so I’d be happy either way. With all they did with Phoenix this year, bringing in Madelyne would make a ton of sense. I want goblins in her sp3! lol

    You're overthinking it. So characters in the synergy are dark counterparts/ versions of existing heroes, so that's what the synergy is going to be. Dracula is probably coming but I highly doubt this synergy is about him

    Captain Hydra? Just came to my head and thought it would be a good idea.

    Could be a Kabam original as well they seem to love making them this year and one that isn’t linked to the eidols would be interesting. Maybe even on one of their own Kabam Originals like Aegon or Guilly.

    Uhhh definately in the guillotine background there is one champ who definately looks like a main boss of all guillotine and purgatory
    So it could be for sure
