Okay… honest opinions on Solvarch?

I just need to see what people think about this champion. Mine is 7* R3… & in the most respectful way possible. Solvarch is not good. Thoughts on Solvarch?

You’ve been complaining about that champ all day, brother. It’s fine you don’t enjoy him, he’s definitely not for everybody but you should’ve tested him out before taking him to r3 to see if you enjoy him cuz new isn’t always shiny.

I for one enjoy his animations and design. He’s a fun champ that mainly takes mutants and energy damage match-ups and nothing else. He can take Zola, Onslaught and Photon if you got no better counter in BGs (won those fights with him) and I suppose he’ll shine in AW as well. With double immunity, non-contact parry and evade counter he’s still fine as he is, although I wouldn’t mind a slight buff. Not every champ is big yellow numbers or massive DoT. He doesn’t shine in RoL because it isn’t his matchup. Hood doesn’t shine there as well and he’s a great champ nonetheless.

His good but not great outside energy match, won't be a must have but shure is a nice addition and cool design

I think he's just mad that he spent money and r3 resources on him thinking he'd be able to nuke everything in the game when realistically he only does well on his target matchups like a lot of champs these days. Could he use a slight buff? Sure, I for one feel like his energy regen should be stronger and he should lose two charges every second not four but his damage is fine when you use him where you're supposed to use him.

Now we making words up. Calling hood fodder is one thing, completely ignoring the argument of target match-ups is another. Like taking Symbiote Surpreme against a Champ without buffs or Sinister against robots. Not all Champs are Jack of all trades. Solvarch is no beyond-god tier yet still far from bad like VtD.

This is the correct assessment. The kit makes it pretty clear what it does well. I’m not saying it’s great — though I probably like it more than most — but it’s far from “bad,” because there’s some utility in there, as well.

Could it hit harder in non-targeted matchups? Sure. Not disputing that.

Don't bother replying to that guy, the only game mode he likes playing is mcoc poker cause he sucks at basically every other game mode. Calls every champ he doesn't understand mid and blames whales for his lack of skill in BGs.

In the higher leagues absolutely, you wouldn't know tho cause you don't even play BGs, and if you did you'd be fighting demons trying to get out of Uru.

I fought against him once in bgs and only lost damage due to blocking specials, but it was a decent chunk.

I feel like his target matchups are too limited for that case. Amount of robots is quite minimal compared to Solvarch's bad matchup count. Even against mutants and energy damage he takes a lot of time but might be a personal issue since I'm struggling to find the ideal rotation still. He reminds me of Torch although Torch is not fully crippled against non-mystics whereas a 7 star rank 4 Solvarch would timeout against any non-mutant/energy damage matchup in battlegrounds. Also I find the amount of timers in his kit that you have to play around too stressful, not to mention being supposed to tap block up to 10 times during a single special which makes Howard seem not as tedious. No matter what rotation I use I can't go below 2:30 mins against non-mutants in RoL and below 1.15 mins against Storm and Wolverine with a rank 2. Considering how simple those fights are with no nodes involved I don't think I'll even test him in battlegrounds, he doesn't look promising. Why would I waste a slot for a champion with such limited amount of target matchups when there are already many techs who destroy just about the whole class while being of use in many other scenarios as well? A case could have been made if he was a nuke but he's clearly not and its just not worth it. I don't get why his sp1 and sp2 have no damage enhancement by themselves, they feel so lackluster and unrewarding even with max ramp. There are many issues you could mention with the champion but he's been out for a few hours and nobody has much experience yet so I guess I'll be waiting, hoping to be proven wrong. I'd like to be mistaken since he seemed cool and fun but we'll see. One thing I don't expect to change in time is the fact that he is straight up terrible against %80 of the roster and is one of if not the most matchup dependent champion I have ever seen.

There is actually a pretty noticeable difference between Uru and Quantum when it comes to rosters, but again you wouldn't know cause you're a potato.

Solvarch not having ways to ramp outside energy fights regurlarly took away a lot from him, the way the reverb works also kills parts of his damage even with such fast pase specials,also he has no way to bypass armor and resistence and that also takes away part of his damage

i can understand the sentiment of part of the people who are disappointed his soo limited but lets wait and see how things goes in other scenarios besides Vanila,maybe he will get changed to add a compensation for his lack of crits like more attack rating and armor penetration

a weird rotation that seems to work against Non energy and even energy properly, MM till S2 during Absorbing mode and later goes to S1 with 10 armor and convert into energize, rush to S2 and change back to Absorbing mode and repeat it,i got 3 minutes against Hulk with this,my is a 6*

Solvarch should have been a agressive play style that gains charges on basic too soo you could ramp faster

Oh, absolutely agree here. He’s definitely more limited than many other champs and to call him mid, as in middle (not too bad, not too broken) is acceptable. IMO, he’ll shine in AW or certain BG metas in the future and when he’s occasionally needed to take care of specific fights in special content. With the amount of utility he carries, he’ll be a golden boy in his prime matchups, as nieche as they might be. And when it’s not his matchup, you better leave him out completely. I hope Kabam doesn’t make him so useless outside his good fights but only time will tell (I doubt it and the Maker needs that buff much more).

I think all these eidols are terrible. But we will keep chasing because we think the complete synergy will be amazing. I am, however, finding it absolutely hilarious that solvach or whatever is on a collection of nodes that make him look amazing as a defender. But that’s MCOC to a T. Release a new champ on nodes that make them look better than their kit really is
