Solvarch is a letdown?

Hey yall,

I watched I think at least 5 different videos on solvarch, tried the rotations (insane and unnecessary amount imo) and it feels like he's only good vs mutants and barely okay vs anyone else.
Am I doing something wrong here?

    Not good against Vanila scenarios and his great against mutants AND ENERGY DAMAGE match ups, some hazard shifts for example and some Mystics

    But also the guy who designed his kit haven't done a full kit in long time,he did a good work but missed important pieces for less frequent energy match ups and even some mutants can screw his damage

    i believe his the unique Eidol actually getting re balance getting a new Anti armor mechanic based on armor penetration using his crit stats like Shocker

    He might be mid but good to collect all just incase a necro challenge appears just got to wait out for other classes to be released

    He's more of a counter to Onslaught and mutants in general. I'd say he was specifically designed for Captain Britain and her Neuroshocks.
    He'll be a reasonable defender; it seems the cosmic ones handle him without any major issues.
    Unfortunately, all the versatile champions have fallen victim to Rarity Lock: Kate Bishop, Hulkling, Hercules, Magik, Quake, Ghost, Valkyrie, Scorpion, Absorbing Man...
    There's no point in expecting anything like this from new champions. Not every champion needs to be versatile or extremely good on offense. But I got the feeling his rotation is very slow. I didn't feel like using him at all.

    Slow in the sense of his charges ins't it?

I even share them, knowing that it’s an unpopular opinion and most people aren’t going to agree. I clearly don’t care because I keep sharing them regardless.     Agreed, I'm going to get him as a collection piece but most likely Kabam is going to do end game content using Eidols.

    From what I see, I don't have him yet, he's pretty mid, will probably get a rework at some point but there are a bunch of Onslaught counters these days and seems like he was built for that specifically.

    Can't even blame for thinking like that,Kabam din't got a good marketing Job on the character and the lack of better damage source din't help

    I feel like he is only supposed to counter onslot and couple more defenders. But then I think maybe he is a defender who will need counter and he does counters a lot of energy based attackers.

    Pretty relieved that he's not op 5/5 attacker behind paywall. And can work as a defender in many tricky situations. You'll need to keep your drafted non energy based attacked reserved for him in BGs. That's one of his primary utility.
    I'm fine with the 6* atm.

    I don’t have him yet but on paper (and from reviews), I like his kit. I’d rather have a champ that does something specific very well like fry mutants and energy damage champs, as opposed to another generalist with good damage. We’ve got tons of those already. Gimme unique capabilities all day.

    You’re not wrong, besides mutants and energy damage, he’s straight up useless in any other match up
    Not useless since he keeps all his ultility,his S3 rotation against Non mutants gives you a good boom in damage

    Instead of focusing on that why don't you stay on topic and tell us how doing Onslaught in 30 secs is trash lol he does the exact same to Capt. Britain and a few others, yes he's not great but calling him trash is an overstatement.

    Hes a specialist that I think will only prove to be better over time. He's got a lot of little pieces of kit that not a lot of champions have all at once and whilst I think he could do with some innate armor penetration im willing to wait until we see what hes like with a stat cast before completely saying he needs it on his base kit. If he does get rebalanced I think at most all he needs is some form of armor penetration and maybe have the rate of his energy being spent in the exhaust mode slowed a little.

    He's designed to pop off in high energy damage matches and he's doing that, he's not a nuke but he's gonna be a nasty 2 way champ given his defensive value and given how flexible his rotation is I think it's only a matter of time before people really figure him out.

    He can do Bullseye btw, with a completely different rotation. I think people are being way too quick to judge lol he's not a champ who's easy to figure out, his mechanics are very complex and for non energy matchups sp3 is the way to go. I assume nobody here had been using sp3 this way so far.

    Also he showcases what I explained, you start with sp2 instead so you have time to build up charges again before the ten energize so you have more core charges, he's slower but he can even do Spider Woman this way.

    And wow… doing 1 out of 300 champions in 30 seconds and all the other champs outside of the few he counters in 5 minutes is great 😬👍🏽
