You savages! Stop banning my Solvarch in BGs, you monsters!!!!

LOL So, the other day, I posted about how I did enjoy Solvarch, thought the kit wasn’t gamebreaking but that it’s really effective in targeted matchups, but nothing that anyone else had to have.

After messing with the kit and various rotations, I found that the playstyle and kit made sense to me, flowed well for how I play, so I took the 7-star to R3, not trying to be cute or tricky, but because I simply liked playing the kit.

I had read a lot of the comments and it didn’t seem like too many other people thought the kit was that good, so I truly thought I was going to play with it in BGs and that would be it. I wasn’t really expecting much in performance, and truthfully, I am a below-average BGs player…I barely make GC, when I do have time to play.

So it has been absolutely shocking to me that Solvarch — the kit I didn’t think anyone really respected — is my most banned kit BY FAR in this meta/season.

It’s bannned 8 out of 10 times, and then I gotta hope it cycles in for the to pull it — it’s insane. I have barely played it in this meta and I am like what is wrong with you people??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this kit was viewed as mid! I just want to use it!

*This is a joke but also truthful in that I am SHOCKED at how often this kit is getting banned. What is happening? Did people decide it was a threat and actually kinda decent?*

Surelly because people don't know yet how to defeat Solvarch , dexing/evading his moves.

Some champs ,if I find hard to dex its a ban

To be honest, he is mid in offense.

But on the other hand, he is a monster in defense. So many non-cosmic OP attackers have energy hits or dots, meaning Solvarch will enjoy burst of power and reverse some damage to the opponent especially in this meta.
I picked him and put him in defense almost every time. When the opponent only has Okeye, Shathra, Photon and Jack left, the result is absolute a win for me.

Furthermore, he doesn’t need duped actually.
Of course, in other metas, he will be encountered by Cosmic-Armor Break Champions like Medusa, Knull, Scream, DThanos and Galan(Galan can also counter him in this meta).

By the way, his special attacks are easily to dex. His sp2 covers a seemingly wide range but not the full screen, just dodge back and you won’t get hit.

I still haven't had anyone beat my r4. They've thrown Medusa, Angela, Phoenix, Serpent and Hyperion at him and neither were able to ko him without almost timing out or losing a good amount of health. So for defense, I'd say he's actually very strong, he does have some counters and I am aware some champs with armor break can do it they just suck for the current nullify meta but even with that he will be a decent trap defender.

As for offense, I haven't been able to try him out because as soon as I draft him everyone just ignores Onslaught and Jean if they pop up. Not saying he's a a top champ at all but if a "mid" champ is really putting this much fear into the mutant class it's for a reason lol.

I think he will be a good defender but this GC meta is also extremely tough with pretty much all those cosmics you mentioned above. Galan would probably nuke him cause he’s nullify immune and profits off armors but you’re probably right

Yeah most of the armor break champs absolutely nuke him it's just this meta he gains so much power he still stalls really hard, I think he will still be a decent trap defender tho, kinda like Man-Thing and Thing. I've been successful with Galan this meta but he is one of the worst defenders to face right now.

I think people are still sleeping on him on offense tho, he nukes the mutant class as a whole. I can't really think of any mutants he can't do, for the strongest ones like Domino Jean and Onslaught it's a 30 second fight because their energy damage puts you at 100 charges before you even get to throw your first special, and for the other somewhat worse ones like Sinister Havok and Bishop he still does in under a minute regardless. To add to all this, he can still do others like Spider Woman and Bullseye in about a minute as well you just have to play in a very different way for most of these matchups where Inequity and other things come into play.

I did something wrong against a hefty (for my level) Gentle and lost, but it happened so quickly that I wasn’t able to figure out what actually happened. To be clear, I missed whatever it was, but there’s something dangerous in that matchup that can get you basically one-shotted

if you've fought solvarch you would know dexing him does not make him any less of a pain

If a champ is new and I haven't spent time familiarizing myself with their animations and abilities, I'm going to ban them out of an abundance of caution.

Most players do the same.
