Galan or Cull to R4? First cosmic R4. Pls advise. I like both but Galan has dual threat as well but less utility than Cull. Lot of confusion.

Galan has a lot more utility honestly and I'd also suggest him. Much more versatile and his source of damage is quite unique, it doesn't depend on many factors and is fairly consistent. Cull is a lot more limited and less versatile.

If we are talking about first Cosmic R4 for an account I personally wouldn't pick either.

I would imagine, Serpent, DThanos or even Medusa.

But that is just my opinion

This is my full cosmic deck. Personally I don't like Serpent on offence and that's why I am not very much inclined to R4 him. I like Galan from before and now Cull is rocking so confusing between these two.

I'd personally pick between Adam, Gladiator and Knull. Only Knull is a dual threat and the most relevant one out of those 3 if you have inequity and can/did sig him up. Lots of viable options honestly but if its your first cosmic r4 then I'd try to pick the most versatile/relevant one

There are two ways to look at it. I'd probably rank up Cull if I were in your position, simply because I really need a good Zola counter. I'm tired of always banning Zola in BGs, especially now that I have my own. Cull is a perfect counter, at least as long as he isn't stun immune for some reason.

That being said, Galan's Harvest damage scales with base attack only. What that means is that, basically, ranking him up is the only way to increase that damage. Boosts or Recoil or whatever won't affect it. As such, it might be wise to rank him up for that reason. You could always enhance Cull's damage in those other ways.

Have you done the Carina's challenge with him, Ordeal, or Epoch of Pain? I used to hate him on offense too, but once I was forced to use him for those, I found that I actually enjoy him, his damage, and his utility.

But if you are just sticking to your two options, I'd pick Cull. There seems to be more evade champs/nodes recently, as well as non-contact champs imo , which Cull handles easily.

Yep, I fully agreed with @willrun4adonut , Serpent is actually very good as an Attacker and versatile.

For a first R4 Cosmic, you really can't go wrong with Serpent

Not disappointed at all. Just brought Cull to R3 over Galan and am having alot of fun with him. Only mode he isn’t viable for is crucible or monthly Valiant where you can only use him for one fight. Once you build him up he shreds.

Honestly Cull doesn't really need r4 as much as Galan. My r3 is nuking r4s in battlegrounds in 30 seconds. Galan would be my choice.
