How the hell i got Paragon title without doing anything?

So, i was thronbreaker by having 5×rank 4 6* champs just 5 minutes ago. After everything refreshed at 11AM PST everything changed and i got Paragon. I didn't even do anything. How!!!??? Is this game bugged again!? I just wanted to share this here as proof that i didn't even do anything.

It is not exactly charity. It is more a case that at the moment content progression and roster progression aren't well aligned. Roster requirements for progression were added in the first place to prevent situations where players could race ahead in content progression far faster than their roster could keep up and create problems for balancing difficulty and rewards. We now have the opposite problem, where roster is racing forward faster than content progression. If Kabam leaves things as they are, players who reach progression tiers long past the point where their roster has raced ahead will get reward increases that will be less relatively rewarding, because they have in effect grown past those rewards. That's why they added roster "shortcuts" for some of the lower progression tiers, and while it is a bit of a surprise to see Paragon added now, my suspicion i this is related to the dynamic difficulty stuff coming soon. My guess is that stuff factors in both progression and roster strength (i.e. 30-prestige) and accounts with super strong rosters that just haven't gotten around to completing the content to get to Paragon will have suboptimal rewards from those systems.

Does it devalue the effort going into getting Paragon originally? Yeah, a bit, but Paragon is a very old title at this point, and that sort of thing is going to happen over time to everything. One day Valiant is going to be the old thing Kabam is going to make easy to get, because the rest of us will already be at Valiant+2.

Is it an old progression level? Absolutely its old, even Valiant feels old. Do they have over inflated rosters that could beat the content? Well duh they got at least 5 7r2s.... Still they don't beat the the content and get rewarded for not being able or not doing it.

If its not charity its pity, I feel charity is less harsh.

It’s pity. At least now they have unlocked new to them content that is restricted to paragon+… that they still won’t be able to complete.

I was surprised by it, as don't remember any hints toward this, but at the same time not surprised as it has been awhile both for Paragon and when they first provide alternative paths to titles.

Wonder if this hints at the new progression title being not far off?

Removing the requirement to clear content (progression) to progress is cheapening everything that others players actually worked to achieve. So because rosters grow to quickly now they should just give more stuff away for free? How's about instead they let players complain about rewards until they use their absurdly overpowered rosters to clear content to earn those rewards? Sounds like a much better and much healthier approach. There's no excuse for handing things to players like this.

So I can purposely push the boundaries of unearned game rewards. This account literally does nothing but autofight and sit in an active alliance these days. Someone's going to try a Paragon run without advancing past act 4 i hope. Next up, unearned Valiant. Thanks kabam! Never change.

Progression titles mean nothing. A 3 year old title being given away for those with the roster requirements has 0 impact on anyone else. Getting five rank 2 seven stars is a lot harder than just completing act 7.

My alt is in 8.2 with two rank 4 six stars and only one seven star which I got from a promo code for being thronebreaker. It literally takes more effort to get the rank up materials and shards than it takes to complete story mode. Unless they whale out, new players will still achieve paragon the traditional way.

veteran ftp player here. love the game. not really pushing for progression title, just daily login. do low level aq and aw - even then sporadic at best. some story quest, arena, eq and side quest. some daily objectives. collect units, spend when I like the offers.

I'll take the paragon title thank you. will that change how I play the game. no! but I will enjoy the rewards nonetheless. having played the game from the beginning, 10+ years of daily few minutes here and there has its rewards it seems. good if in the future they give valiant, not bothered if not. I will still login and check what to play that day.

Yes.

I've been playing progressional games for a very long time. I am continually surprised by what MCOC, or mobile game players in general, find novel or controversial. This isn't just surprising, this is predictable. So predictable, in fact, that I was actually predicting even stronger measures than this. I was predicting Kabam would implement content skipping to eliminate the need to even complete Book 1 before moving on to Book 2. Its around here somewhere on the forums. They didn't do that, but they did something fairly close for probably analogous reasoning. And they are only a bit behind schedule.

This is just how progressional games work. It is less a question of what Kabam wants to do, and more what they must do. Some stuff is simply unavoidable. 12.0, for example, was unavoidable. Adding roster checks in the first place was unavoidable. Expanding RPG mechanics was mostly unavoidable. This, or something else like it, is unavoidable.

Nah. This is where I disagree for a change. They absolutely shouldn't say forget book 1 you start in book 2. There has never been a game in the history of game, mobile or otherwise, that let's you just skip the first section because after a few lucky drops you have a 6 or 7*. Ever. If you can find just one example somewhere, I'll eat my crow.

I think a lot of people are just talking about the free progression level, the age of the game, and everything else ignoring the big elephant sitting in the corner. Call me cynical or whatever you want, this has nothing to do with the quality of experience for those players being given a new progression title. It has nothing to do with "being nice", or rewarding anyone. Its a simple strategy to keep people from falling off, and hoping they start spending. Look at every TB sale, you think any TB buys anything in their TB menu of buyable items after seeing what they are facing in BGs?. Some might say well they could sell better stuff, then they would have to make it ot better for Paragons and Valiants.

Bottom line is this is about letting more people buy stuff that is current to content and event rewards.

It has nothing to do with the game age or being nice, its just part of the player rentention program as they called it. TB deals and sales are ****, well make them Paragon and sell them Paragon stuff which is probably more along the lines of what they already have.

I don’t begrudge players who woke up today and found they were paragon. Not their fault. The problem is this has almost nothing to do with the health of the game and everything to do with Kabam just blowing up anything meaningful in the game in favor of $$$$.

That’s all this game is now, more cash grabs and trying to make the pool for people to buy them bigger. This game is going downhill fast.
