The Current Side Quest Confusion and Resolution

To preface, one of the things i vividly recall @Kabam Crashed presenting in a past livestreams slides was the intention to make Side Quests less complex and more straightforward.

However, i had seen quite a bit of comments and threads aimed at tbe current months SQ , stating that it was overtuned for its design intent or confusing with the entry token not being returned if the user had quit out. I'm not sure if it gave a warning if you selected to quit out for this months sq, but even if it did, it didnt refund your entry token which normally is the case with the monthly side quest.

The issue is that given the amount of backlash the EQ got, it ended up getting all the attention leaving the posts about the Side Quest getting burried.

But i still think some of the complaints and remarks about the SQ were valid (and this is coming from someone that got it done without reviving)

Given this, i was wanting to explore the possibility of just 1 additional Petrified Eye being mailed out to Summoners? Could this be something passed on to the team @Kabam (Osaurus) Rex ?

Why should we get an extra eye when the reason for it is just that people cant read and for some reason this month in particular forgot how the game works

The extra eye would then have to have the other weeks of side quests available. Most of the complaints were that they missed the solo objective (I missed it the first week because I didn't read).

I don't see them sending an eye out to help those people who didn't read this week, but not helping those who couldn't read last week.

Tl;Dr - no to extra eyes.

Its not so much for the special quest objective as it is for the overall entry token being lost when you quit out , usually you get the entry token refunded back in previous side quests. This one in particular in addition to the complaints of being overtuned happened to be one of those confusing ones that didnt give the item back and people didn't know . 1 petrified eye isnt going to make or break anything but would be a nice way to address the lack of clarity

Entry tokens have always been consumed upon entry and are not returned. Only items required to unlock gates are returned if you quit out.

I still concur that it's overtuned.

Are the rewards way better now than they were when SQs were just…SQs? Perhaps I'm missing the reason behind all this.

My problems with SQ (other than it being overtuned) were not being able to see the path rewards beforehand & the "possible rewards" bull****

I thought there'd be T2 dust is threat level 4. Wasted 1 eye each week 🤦🏻

Yeah , still dont understand why they wouldn't. Its just a side quest. I had a dropped parry input that led me to eat an sp2 off mangog to the face, so just figured id restart given how overtuned the fights are , to do it itemless.

Because they've never let you recoup entry tokens. So the better question is, why would they change it now? And are you sure it was a dropped input, or was Mangog's SP2 unblockable? Because that can easily happen.

You've been playing this game too long to make these kinds of ridiculous claims. If the quest was meant to have unlimited tries, why would there be entry tokens? We've had this type of SQ hundreds of times. You can preview the quest and prepare a team before entering. There's plenty wrong with the game but this isn't one of them.

With the number of entry tokens each week, I am still confused how many times we're supposed to run a quest. Past 2 weeks I've just been running TL5 and TL4 once, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be running TL5 twice, or using up all my entry tokens on the different threat levels.

Do you get the rewards again? Looking at it, it makes it seem like the path rewards don't repopulate.

Yes. Path rewards are never shown in preview, but they are there every time you enter.

These are the points im trying to make. The structjre of the SQ vary from month to month and the fact people have to guess if rewards can be reobtained, should all be used in week or if tokens are returnable (it definitely was in the past or else why would there be a swarm of posts this month in particular) .
