Yeah, I was right there with you and called them out for sending out those energy refills after they didn't matter. The comp should've been in our inventory the moment we got back into the game, because half of it was useless after just a few hours.
Probably a dumb idea, but a comp store with a comp currency could be a solve to part of the issue. Would allow players to get what they need from the comp when they need it. It would come with its own problems, but would help others.
At the end of the day, the only true comp is a properly working game, a better communicating team, and a path forward that addresses the over-monetization of champions and the violently widening gap between 98% of the players and those who spend a lot. No comp package is going to solve any of that and will only serve to buy our allegiance for a brief period of time. There's really no winning with this comp without long lasting changes and drastic shifts in the direction of the game. But it will be much worse if the comp isn't also moderately overwhelming.
Edit: double post because the forums are still not great.
40,000 revives will be same as 30. They will all expire. Same with health pots. Shards…. Crystals? Well, some people will be happy… other summoners comp will be met with multiple dupes of green falcon. Catalysts? Give everyone a bunch more rank 4 mats and make every other piece of content pointless to chase comparatively….. and the big accounts will be screaming for rank 5 mats within a week.
withholding come like this is just fraught with all sorts of stupidity. We should have been given rolling weekly comp until all was settled…. So that the final comp could have been reasonable. It can only go wrong now….
The fact that most people on this forum seem more interested in crying about the comp package than crying about the technical issues getting fixed says a lot about their reasons for playing the game in the first place.
People want a functional and fun game to play so they can earn their rewards and fight with their favorite marvel champions in an actually at its core really damn good fighting game.
The game has not been functional in multiple areas which is the pillar in which everything else stands on so therefore players want the rest of the stuff they either missed out on or feel entitled to due to that.
It has nothing to do with wanting work done on the technical side as again, that is the foundation of what everyone is playing this game for so no matter what, just by association, everyone wants the game to work
perhaps people are asking about comp because
1) Kabam keep saying it will happen
2) it’s not happening
3) (and most important) - they have actually seen comp packages in the past…. As opposed to AI and numerous other issues that never seem to have an endpoint.
Your comment is made even more irrational because if Kabam said we can either give comp OR fix the bulk issues in two weeks… everyone here would take the latter provided there was some sort of evidence that would actually happen.
We have more confidence in getting a comp package than issues actually being fixed. Might as well fight for something we might actually get.
I don't think so. Just look at the activity that comp threads get versus gameplay threads.
Most players just like getting stuff and opening stuff.
If there was similar engagement about things like AW matches being decided by who got fewer deaths from being logged off the server, or how losing points to modders in BG don't get refunded even if Kabam bans the modder that very season, or the AI throwing specials before the power bar is even visibly full, or the b.s. fix of Silk lock that was so lazy and cynical it ruined another champ (Titania), or a host of other things, then that's where Kabam would focus its efforts.
No, instead the community's greatest interest is in demanding free stuff and crying about sales.
