This game has a roster problem: for the game to have a purpose, they have to continue to manufacture reasons to rank up tons of champs.
Defender you’ll literally never control yourself? War defense and BG defense.
Quest content? We will implement short rosters to nerf synergies.
Endgame content? Gated to 7-stars.
Monthly EQ? Limited nodes that benefit middling champs with specific abilities.
Yea ngl, if they keep it up with only allowing 1 champ at a time gauntlet type quests, why bother giving us synergies anymore? Or long form content ramp up champs?
the event quest is genuinely my least favorite content, it’s not fun even at quest 1 on the easy path and i’m a valiant player. the rewards also do not justify it whatsoever, it is way too difficult for the rewards you get in return.
The nodes absolutely need updating but even with that, this is not difficult content. It's not even especially time consuming. I 100%ed it in the first 24hrs and it's a month long quest that you don't have to do in one go if you don't want to.
People are in here complaining about the format that they praised when it was packaged as valiant eq and the health pools are now practically identical to then as well. You can use 6*r4 champs on this without much issue.
The community chose this format and the rewards are better than when it was val eq even if you all want to pretend they aren't.
They do need to get rid of having to do classic first though.
Can't say something new but it's another month and Elder still feels like climbing a mountain without any proper tools.
Yes, there are enough heal potions and revives but it i's not about those ressources but the amount of fights per mission. As i mentioned before and as it is mentioned here, there is no logical explanation to stick to that everest design while it seems like that most people are clearly not enjoying it and their is one simple solution: reduce the fights per way if you really have to stick to that horrible everest design. 10 Fights are more than enough, even for people with a huge roster.
I remember well that i expressed it here in the forum like 5-6 months ago that i fear that Kabam will deliver more and more of that everest content. One of the responses was: "You wan't everything for free right, like Kabam should delete all defenders on the paths and let you walk into the finish".
No i just want to have fun again while i don't have to wait for new Story Content.
If they reduced the Fights to 10, and took it down another 15% or so on Attack and Health, that would be optimal IMO.
find a job you enjoy? A game that’s supposed to be enjoyable vs something that brings in an income might be known to have two different dynamics…
see while it’s not much in the grand scheme the fact that it puts the rewards into the rat race of what others spend, by default, makes it cash grabby. The incentive is there.
For mature rosters it’s definitely manageable and even possible to do itemless… that’s not the problem. It’s simply the most boring content they’ve ever made. Cant play with synergies, can simply blaze it with a broken interaction, cant use it to learn ramp up champs… it’s more or less just a snooze fest of uninteresting content that unfortunately has chase rewards. Really it’s just bad design and we were wrong about VEQ as a community. This really needs to go back to the drawing board
Tbh…. It’d be far more enjoyable without the crucible interaction. Where we got to use a team of 5 champs any way we wanted.
I can see synergies eventually being attached to some equippable cosmetics for each champion. It seems like it's the obvious route Kabam is heading down with all these decisions as of late
What is cash grabby about this? You can get 60+ free revives a month, same for health potions. Is this content really causing people to use a revive every single fight?
I consider myself a VERY average player. Not solo'ing any Necropolis runs, I just completed Epoch and used around 15 revives per path + Ares. Nothing special. I'm likely a low ranked Valiant player.
I used I think 12 or 13 revives total in the quest and something around 15 health potions. That takes me around 6-7 days to accumulate those resources. You have 30 days to complete the quest. This is the opposite of cash grabby.
yup, it stillll a slog , long quests ,some annoying weird fights , and some class related nodes like cosmics or mystics is hard to pull with the limited pool of champs who can fit these restrictions ..
It's evidenly a low effort change seeing how they didn't even bother updating the nodes from old TB EQ difficulty or creating new class based nodes.
Short-term bandaid solutions I can think of include:
-Update the tech node to include armor up effects instead of just buff
-Update the cosmic node to include pulverize for armor ups
-Expand the range of debuffs for the science node
-Expand the regeneration mutant node to interact with daunted in addition to prowess
-Remove the passive healblock from the skill node
-Mystic nodes seem fine
Also, maybe implement the full heal champ swap for the node before the boss just like act 9.
The problem is having enough champs that meet the node mechanics. Sometimes it’s tough even after dipping into your 6*s.

Yep, to the drawing board, just want to add that eq was boring before too. Paragauntlet was fun though. The day they removed 100% tb requiremnt i stopped doing td eq. I did other quests for units.
He is mentioning prestige chase cash grabby. Not item use. While I don't disagree, but it actually does close to nothing. Spenders already had better prestige to begin with. if anyone is increasing thier prestige for eq, then they might want to stop beacuse it ain't worth the squeeze. Prestige will keep on increasing with time though.
Prestige chase has been cash grabby since the start, for Top 90 AQ(a streach). For the rest of the players, it's just a regular day.
exactly this, and on the balance I agree, I just don’t enjoy the attempted social engineering being applied to a mode that’s meant to be for casual players. The knock on effects have all been net negative for the players almost universally as now we have people who never cared about High Evo feeling forced into ranking him instead of their favorite champ. That’s just anti-fun incentives.
This continues to be the most baffling and frustrating thing, and from what I can recall, no one from kabam has ever acknowledged that particular aspect.
it’s easier than the first version they dropped last month and people are still crying about it. Nothing Kabam does will ever be good enough for this ungrateful community.

Poor node design, mainly for tech, cosmic.
They need to add a node that helps the attacker. Like for cosmic, every 10 hits apply an armor break. Or for tech, power drain on parry if you have armor up, and every 10hits get a 5-10sec armor. Or on intercept, special or heavy punish. Something....
Those stupid poison and bleed nodes need to go why is that still in the quests, it’s not even about the values anymore cause those are fine it’s just the stupid outdated nodes
my problem with elder are the nodes, if we are playing for class they should benefit all champions in that class… it’s of that it is a restrictive path and there is still restrictions for the same class path!
The tech path in elder was irritating but the rest weren't too bad.
Most of my revives were on fights where I brought a dumb choice but were too far in to bother starting again.
I wouldn't mind a health restore at the end of each path as a compromise over starting with full health if the current format must stay.
