Reverse Controls

If the node reverses control and the defender also reverses control, does that yield normal controls?
Does combined effects nullify themselves?

No, controls would be reversed.

No. Multiple reverse control effects still results in reversed controls. (Easiest way to see it is to go against Jean Grey - you get a reverse controls from dropping her shield and another during her specials, and if both are on you you still have reversed controls)
