Future of 7 Stars and 8 Stars

This is a conversation for the future, but I wanted to hopefully plant a seed in the developer's minds when it comes to the future of 8 stars. As you see above, when a new rarity is introduced, they start off with relative strength compared to the previous rarity. For example, a rank 4, level 55 6 star has relatively equal power compared to a rank 1, level 25 7 star champion and so on.

When Ascension was introduced for 5 and 6 stars, it allowed the previous rarity to have a bump up in their strength relative to the new rarity. Although most would agree that a 7 star, rank 3 is stronger than a 6 star, rank 5 ascended champion, we would also agree that it allowed the 6 star to get a bump in their strength to close the gap between it and the 7 star rank 3.

However, with 7 stars having 11(!) ascension levels, where does that leave the beginning of 8 stars *when* they are introduced to the game? Will 8 stars be busted out of the gate and have strength equal to a rank 5, level 75 ascension level 11 of a 7 star as a rank 1? Will it be weaker and relative strength to ascension level 5 or even level 1? I hope this is something the developers will consider soon when building 8 stars.

Like I said, I understand this us probably a conversation for the future but let me know what you think!

Kabam said no 8*. 7* ascension is 8*. Thats why there's 11 levels to it. And will require special champ tokens.

If you think about it, 7* ascension release is identical to a 8* release.

As with a new rarity, all new champs after a certain point will be ascendable. (Thats Lizard).

The ascendable materials will be in a designated crystal (7* ascension base pool). When duping a 7* champ you will get shards for this crystal. Over time, new champs will be added to the "base" pool.

Also, your table is way off. 7R1 is not the equivalent of a 6R4. It is almost close to a 6R5. And 6R5Asc is not equivalent to a 7R3. 6r5Asc is basically identical to a 7r2. Go look. Their stats are like within 0.01% of eachother.

I know it's not relevant, but it really bugged me you didn't know that.

1 - Table is not way off. You may have forgotten how it works, but r4 of a previous rarity is usually equivalent to r1 of a new rarity. Go to your line/discord chat and have your alliance confirm.

2 - You evidently didn’t understand my post. 7 stars are not the new 8 stars. They’re given ascension for longevity. As I said, when 8 stars come (and it’s only a matter of when), what will happen? Because when we inevitably reach ascension level 11, does that mean MCOC is over? No, it means 8 stars will come.

I would assume (possibly dangerous given recent events) that the devs have thought all of this through, they just haven’t communicated yet.

Seems to me what we really need to know is the power increase per level of ascension relative to the power increase for a full rank.

For illustration sake, let’s say the increase from max level 7r4 to max level 7r5 is 20%. If the increase per ascension level is 1.5%, it’s going to seem very marginal in the early days. If it’s 10% per ascension, it’s gonna be wild.

You always say "at this time" to leave yourself wiggle room.

What would be the purpose of 8*s? What was the purpose of 7*s? To reset our accounts, give us something new to chase. That's what 7* Asc is, but without resetting our account progress. Kabam said they dont want to do that anymore.

Once we get closer to the end of 7* ascension levels, they can come up with a new mechanic to raise the power level of 7*s.

I view 7* Ascension as 8*. The launch is identical to how a new rarity would be launched

The main purpose of a new rarity is resetting the chase and a source of monetization. We also just happen to get a new mechanic with each rarity. I promise you kabam will reset the chase. They always will. Its the entire point of a gacha style game.

Incorrect. 8*s will be coming. They said they wont be coming at this time. Not ever.
