Titan Crystal Quandry Idea

Greetings! I was looking my giant stash of titan shards that there is no reason to open until March and was thinking about what the best way make them exciting again.

At this point, I think it’s common knowledge among end game players that while we’ve been receiving more and more titan shards for pretty much every game event, the number of champs in the crystal does not rotate fast enough for players to not horde. Once you have all the champs, most of the dupes, and a number of them at 200 sig there’s not much point to open these crystals.

What I’m proposing is adding some spice to these without expanding the champ pool. Let’s have a low chance to get First Appearance versions of the newest champs entering the crystal. Like 1 in 10 or 1 in 4 chance. Once the crystal rotates, the First Appearance champs rotate as well, and the new champs get a shot at the shiny pic.

I personally feel this would give incentive to whales and those invested in the game to continue opening titans after all the base champs have been obtained and gives an interesting choice right before rotation. Do we open to get the first appearance before they rotate out, or hold for the base champs when they’re available.

I believe this also does not really step on the character valiant crystals. By the time these champs enter the titan, their first appearance as first appearance champs will have already passed.

What do we think? Am I missing something nuance with this? Good idea? Bad?

I think we should add more sig levels if the champion is ascended.

Maybe every 20 titans opened could give a base pool selector or something along the lines of a jubilant crystal level of worth.

I keep seeing people bring up titan hoarding as an issue, and I agree it is. However, KABAM, please don't take the wrong lesson from the issue. It is very very nice to be able to acquire newer 7 stars easily and for free. It makes this game very fun. It gives us aspirations to chase. Please don't nerf shard gain.

The problem is just how loooooong this chase is. 3 months is a painfully long wait. It's also weird how one champion in a new titan batch came out 3 to 2.5 months ago, and another came out 1 or 2 weeks prior.

I think the solution is to rotate the titan every month. 2 new champs, 1 or 2 exclusive champs (HoF, Christmas pool, Omega days, Incursions, Alliance, Saga, etc), and then 2 or 3 base pool champs. With how huge the base pool has gotten, this could be great for people targeting a specific champ. Personally I've opened 80+ basics trying to get BPCW, so I would love the thrill of checking to see if he was put in the titan every month.

I think this would decrease titan shard stockpiles and put a stop to the horribly boring 3 month hoard. I know some people will hate the idea of putting basic pool champions in, but I have no other idea on how they could do a 1 month rollover without it. I would prefer it this way.

I made a thread months ago to change the cycle back to 2 months. Even then everyone was mostly in agreement, but now after Banquet (and overal game economy changes) 3 months is just absurdly long.

They should give a Grandmaster's Grace-esque system for Titan crystals as well, maybe for every 10-15 Titans you get a limited champion selector or something

The most reasonable solution imo is featured 7* with random selection of champions from base pool and 2-3 paywalled champs like cpt Britain or red guardian, for like 50k shards. Wouldn't mean much for whales who already have every champ, but for those nothing will work. On the other hand, those who want would be able to waste their shards with small odds of getting something limited.

As for the first appearance thing, the whole point is it being exclusive. Maybe they could design some second appearance background, but I'm afraid it may be better than first one. Also not sure how you want first to interact with second
