So with the free token in the daily event, does everyone get a free 7 star toad? Pretty cool if it’s true

provided the Daiy Super Event continues to have 1 token every day, for the 3 months, yes.

What was interesting is that the 6* and 7* both would cost the same (although if there is no “higher content” involved, to potentially limit some people's tokens, then no reason to have the 6* be a “couldn’t get enough for 7, but at least I can get a 6” lower token cost).

And that (unless I’m missing something looking at the Tags), why does the accompanying Rankup Gem *NOT get to be used with the corresponding TOAD ??
