Summoner's Choice 2026: What We Do in the Shadows

It is that time again: Summoner's Choice 2026 is here.

This was our field of choices:

And we've now narrowed the options to the final four:

In 2024, The Darkeity Dark candidate Shathra took it all. In 2025 the darketiest candidate got to the final round but was upset by Mr. Knight, the undarkeity option. This year, the semifinals feature the two darketiest champs - Pork Grind and Fantasma - taking on the two shiniest options in Age of Apocalypse Colossus and StormPhoenix in the ultimate battle between color schemes. Here's a run down on the final four.

StormPhoenix

Darketiy Dark Score: 1/10
Noteable for: Being a Phoenix
Why she should join MCOC: Simultaneously increases number of Storms and number of Phoenixes in the game by one.
However: Of course, she's dead

Colossus Age of Apocalypse

Darkeity Dark Score: 3/10
Noteable for: Being a bit of a ****
Why he should join MCOC: Honestly, have no idea
However: let me check - yep, also dead

Fantasma

Darkeity Dark Score: 10/10
Noteable for: Being a Ghost Rider
Why she should join MCOC: Can open portals to Hell
However: least cool Ghost Rider transportation option conceivable

Pork Grinds

Darkeity Dark Score: 10/10
Noteable for: Sheer ridiculousness
Why he should join MCOC: Sheer ridiculousness
However: Kit could literally be anything, and probably will be

The two brightest options are the most depressed variant of Colossus and the most totalitarian version of Storm, while the two darkest options are a rollerskating version of Ghost Rider and a cartoon pig assassin. This is probably the weirdest summoner's choice if nothing else. My money is on the kurobuta bento, but I can't count out StormPhoenix on name recognition alone. Or rather, names recognition: she might get all the X-Men vote out there.

Will Darkeity Dark triumph this year, or will the light horse take the win?

I want pork grind to both be a good counter to spiders (especially that pesky roast) but also something so ridiculously random he’s scary to every class. I feel like the Toon force should really get a proper representation, and pork grind feels like an excellent way to do it

It has to be Pork Grind. If for no other reason than to see Vin _Cent write dialog in Ahnold voice for a cartoon pig.

Although if we keep adding characters from Earth 8311 we might one day get Milk and Cookies.

Spiderham is one of the most fun characters, and also have a lot of fun punchlines. Imagine how funny pork grind would be ,with all his call outs.

I suspected right away that Pork Grind would be a Skill champ... I would also expect him to be a direct counter for Spider-Ham (and, by extension, potentially a strong counter for other power sting champs)

Beyond that, I have no idea what to expect except some really fun and wacky animations.

I'm all-in on Pork.
