The Venom The Duck Buff Was Lame

The chase to get and upgrade the venom the duck relic was fun. But buffing a champion in a way that the acquisition of the buff is limited time is very lame.

The content should have been permanent. Maybe not the special objectives to upgrade the VTD relic, but the chance to acquire the relic should not be limited time.

I want to make it clear, I have the VTD relic and I was there to participate in the chase. I'm just looking back on it from the perspective of new/returning players who have to deal with a prebuff champion that they just won't be able to find a use for.

I cleared that up in the first 2 sentences. The point of the post is that I think we should all be against buffs that are gatekept by being around for an event. Gatekeeping champion acquisition is one thing, because if you never get the champion to begin with, oh well. But to pull a champion from a crystal that is useless but has been buffed is odd.

Its like defeating the whole purpose of a buff. Kabam recognized this champion was subpar and barely usable, and then locked his buff behind a limited-time event.

😭 bro always saving screenshots of people to use against them. Like I said, I don't have a problem with gatekeeping champions or relics. I have a problem gatekeeping buffs. Thats all it is.

If Kabam deems a champion who is useless to be buff worthy, then that champion should now be usable for everyone, not just those who were there for a once in a lifetime thing.

I agree with the OP.

However, I have been thinking that the drawback he's mentioned (largely, that the relic isn't available to future players in the same way) doesn't have to be such an issue, if the relics are built for champions who are also time-limited. For example:

A Deathless Thanos relic, which is Universal class (or Classless), and can be bound to any Deathless champion.

An Isophyne relic (as above, for Stellar-Forged champions)

A 1* Knull relic, to be earned in next years "My little Symbiote" event, to big up 'lil Steve.
