You’re correct about prestige not being relevant to matchmaking. Battlegrounds is a free for all. Everybody against everybody else. That’s just what it is and how it works. I completely understand why some people have a hard time with the game mode in its current format but the matchmaking is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Its not supposed to match based on prestige. Its only supposed to match whoever is in your same current bracket. If the person you matched in your bracket has a stacked roster its because they either just started climbing or dont really play battlegrounds. If your in a high bracket and still matching nothing but stacked rosters, then you've reached your plateau and need to upgrade your roster. Its really that simple.

No, my guy. You're the one being obtuse. Everything I said is 100% correct. You either lack skills or the roster to compete with people with stacked decks. Either suck it up and work on your roster, or wait a week or two for them to move up the ranks and then work on your own victory track. Its absurdly simple.

I’m getting matched against higher prestige than my account every single match, it’s normal in battlegrounds, I’m fighting against whales every match

So far 12 wins, 4 loss in GC

Now at rank 1,767 in GC, I’m camping and chilling right now, observing the rank movement in GC to decide if I should jump back in with 11 days to go

Also if you want fairer accounts to practice or have a better experience there is now a QuickPlay mode for 5 energy that lets you match with prestige. It even counts for the solo objectives!

Why does everyone have this dumb idea that if they try they have to advance? Its a competition. In a competition not everyone advances, people get left behind and stuck until they get better skills or a better roster (team).

I agree. It is the worst mode of MCOC. Ever!

I so much dislike playing BGS that I have deliberatly build a roster with very strong defenders so people often quit, before the matches start. Currently I am way above 30 rank 4 champs with max sig, so luckily people forfeit. I also stop when I reach GC, and I never push for the 10k radiance milestones.

If what you say is true, there is no point at all in playing them. For a heavy spender, the amount of radiance available thru BGs is a joke, I guess the only point to actually play some is special events and alliance duties.

of course it is true, however, I am not a big spender. I am at the lowest 20 pct in my alliance.
We have a minimum of points to get in BGS, so I cannot just skip it.

Yeah this. People have really high rosters that don't play battlegrounds often or start playing later in season

Unrank BG is has your name on it @Jts2010, it's a fair BG match that is based on prestige. Now if you have a longlosing streak there, it's because you lack skill. Good luck and play nice.

matchmaking does suck but what makes it even worse is that if you get a bad draft your screwed, its no longer based on skill at all esp the last 2 metas, either get a good draft or you lose no if or butts about it and its getting worse with how certain champs can only be countered by certain other champs

Isn't every meta is based on the draft. I haven't seen a meta where everyone is happy with no posts about how the meta sucks. I know that if BG had no nodes there will be more complaints since the big accounts will just nuke everything fast. So is it the meta that is causing the issue or is it the whales that is causing the issue. In your opinion which meta would benefit the average summoner besides the 2-4 star champ restrictions?

they need to do something. You mean to tell me that at the very bottom of the GC there are NO players close to my prestige??? Only R4 sig 200 legends are in the matchmaking pool at that level??? Cmon man it’s not even close and the matchmaking needs to be fixed.
