Should i spend 60k units on deathless or hold and wait? (FTP)

Hi, im a ftp player, and like some of you, i took a break from the game during 2023-2025.

I recently picked up the game again 3 months ago, and i see Deathless thanos in BG a lot, and also the deathless mausoleum in special quests as well as the necropolis deathless challenge, and obviously i have no way of completing those.

Now im not gonna complaint about it, i noticed i had some pieces (probably logged in the game here and there without playing in that 2 year period), and i already did the challenges to get the rest of the pieces i could.

Currently i have:

4/5 guillotine pieces

2/5 kingroot pieces

1/5 vision pieces

1/5 shehulk pieces

So my only option is to spend 60k on the remaning 12 pieces.

Now sorry for this post being too long, im trying to provide context.

My question is , should i grind all the units and get these champions?
*currently i have 8k units

or should i hold the 60k units (when i eventually get there) , and wait for a catch-up mechanic like Kabam mentioned its gonna be in the first half of this year (not sure if they changed their mind). Or should i just pull the trigger when i have enough?

im also a bit hesitant because banquet might have a deathless champ in ranked rewards, but im not sure i can grab it with 60k units, and even then id need to spend like 40k units to get the rest.

i really want that deathless shehulk and DT. I do care about battlegrounds, i reached gladiator december and january, but i do feel that i am at a disadvatange.

Very curious on what thoughts you have regarding my situation, im sure some are in the same situation like me. Aditionaly im not sure if i should just wait for cyber weekend or 4th of july. having lots of units is dangerous lol.

blue is what you can obtain from the game currently. green is what i already had.

regarding the unit situation, here is how you can get units without spending, on a monthly basis on average.

currently i need to grind for another 6 months or so.

Thanos is incredible but no champ is worth 60k units. If you are in a position and state of mind to grind that many units, you’re better off saving for banquet and hoping the game still exists in 10 months.

Honestly, if you want to spend them on chase pieces, I would spend them on any Stellar champ pieces you miss so you can get Doom later.

thank you for the tips, i will wait for banquet then, does anyone know how many units you had to spent last year in banquet to get the deathless champ selector?

The points milestone for the Deathless selector was 27,840. If you were using straight units, so maybe around 20K give or take some free SBCs, etc…

to be clear OP, what I’m saying is that 60K units invested in banquet will have a massive impact on your account that far outweighs the addition of one meta champ like Thanos.

I love deathless Thanos but he’s not worth 60k units. He’s one of the best cosmics in the game but if you use those units on an in game event like banquet you’ll get so much more value for your account. The will gradually make the deathless more available as well.

I said this last year: To me... Dhanos is worth 10k. But not a single unit over it. In my alt account I was missing 4 pieces and grabbed him from radiance.

I'd wait. The 60K units could get so much more than one champ. We've also seen multiple different alternatives to obtaining deathless champs in the last year (piece in SQ? from early 2025, WOF, banq, radiance). It's likely the pieces will continue to become more available through means such as selecting them over a titan nexus.

thank you guys, I was really stuck in this decision (was about to blow 5k just to form deathless guillotine lol)

i think i will hold the units and spend on banquet, if 20-25k units will get me a full deathless champ, and i buy 5 pieces with radiance, and select a piece from WOF, i will only need to spend 10k on the last 2 pieces…

and this will feel a lot better than burning 60k straight up. i guess patience is key (and grinding arena)

There was a player who spent units to get deathless champ and got deathless Thanos 1 month before banquet 2025 only for 1 deathless champ selector to appear in banquet milestones…….

Nah, I’d probably save them for mega sales, HOF like sales, spring cleaning, July 4, etc. Plus they will add other ways to get pieces. If you really want to, you can spend the units on stellar forged pieces or Dark Phoenix if she ever returns lol
